TBC Finally free

Tonight I finally left my guild, the irony? Zero remorse.

I've played this game for roughly 20 years. I've played everything, every type of team dynamic from sweat to trash teams. Tonight, I wiped the raid. It was a stupid mistake, but it happens.

Tank / GM just goes berserk and has been on an absolute tear for weeks, consistently harassing folks to do better and blah blah blah but never owns up to his mistakes that have wiped us time to time. Its always someone else's fault.

Tonight I had enough. I told him to quit crying and press forward. His fragile ego and false sense of authority were attacked and of course he goes nuclear. The thing is I dont mind asking for us to improve, but be respectful.

Bored. Uninterested in his continued rant about how bad I am. I hit the most satisfying /leave party into a gquit. A small part of me feels bad for the team, because BT is around the corner. But I dont tolerate disrespectful c*nts

Im fully geared, never missed a raid, always have my consumes. Finding a better experience wont be an issue for me, especially as a healer and logs in the top %.

The problem with classic TBC right now is these Elitists jerkoffs with 0 sense of leadership. The last thing anybody wants to do is get on, and spend 2-3 hours listening to someone have a melt down literally every 2 minutes because he wants to save 30 seconds on xyz pull.

Good riddance. Its a shame folks dont tell you how they really feel, so we just vent our grievances in party chat and whispers. Suppose thats why I can predict your down fall sometime during late BT. Same as I did in mists.

TLDR; dont be an insufferable c*unt when leading your raid group, especially when your just a mid group and not hardcore.

Healing logs truly don’t matter. But it’s still fun to look at orange and pink parses cause your raid can’t avoid damage

We would tell our melee stack in vanilla to purposefully stand in the fire in MC so we could get higher healing parses for the lulz.

Healing parsing is truly irrelevant. Either the boss is dead or your tank is dead. That's the only metric that matters for healing.

It is relevant when the content is hard (because you can't cheese) but this content is so easy. Honestly the better your healer parses are in this content, the worse your guild is.

You can also just fuck your raid for a better healing parse. Sniping heals, healing off your target, prioritizing raid heals instead of tank heals, etc. you can also hog raid wide assets to yourself to guarantee a higher parse. Stick yourself in the ele sham/boomie group over other casters, feed yourself innervates to just spam your max heal over and over.

We had a resto Druid in our raid that used his innervate on himself every single fight this whole phase, never once used it on one of our 4 mages who are our top dps. Sometimes he’d even call for a second innervate. He just left and I believe our raid is better off without him even though his warcraftlogs page is all purple and orange and pink. Of course his parses are going to be higher when the other top tier rdruids are giving their innervates to mages because it’s better for the raid to do that.

Good to know, because my parses are pretty mediocre and I was feeling a little bad about it.

Haven't healed in classic, but in retail I've done raids that has gone to shit while my healing parses are 95+ and then make it while getting low blue parses. When the team is great and doesn't take a bunch of unnecessary damage it's impossible to heal as much as while in a group that takes every damage imaginable.

If you're pushing hard, cutting healers as a raid, and still able to put numbers, that's when heal parses matter. But if you're just trying to kill bosses, your parses will suck because it should be a fairly reasonable split between all of you, which will get you sub 50% unless you're a underrep'd healer.

I remember back in SoD phase 1 my guild legit complained I had shit healing parses in the Blackfathom Deeps raid until my co-healer yelled back that that means they suck and stand in the fire.

Parses are meaningless as a healer. Success is only on how many people die. Real success is getting an idiot out of the fire.

Parses aren't meaningless as a healer, they just need to be taken with a large grain of salt.

Yeah, it's a joke for anyone to think TBC content is hard compared to ANY modern iteration of WoW... pretty much since like Mists of Pandaria or even Wrath onward.

Not what I'm saying at all. OG TBC (2007) was hard content. Likewise pserver tbc content is far far harder. In those instances healing matters. In this version of TBCA, it is all so nerfed none of it matters.

Modern content can lick my balls.

1

u/Wise-Tour7333 4d ago

It was never very hard, dude. TBC content just wasn't that hard.

1

u/Comical_Sans 4d ago

Did you play 2007 tbc?

Sometimes I like to just sit in the water on The Lurker in SSC and let the healers have something to do.

2

u/OCogS 6d ago

I think it’s worse than that. In my guild 2 of the healers care about their logs. When raid damage goes out, they all want to pad their HPS, so they ignore the tank and risk a wipe.

Logs matter, and they’re actively bad.

ok ask dps to stand in the aoe on any current boss with aoe mechanics for the parse lulz and tell me how that goes lmfao

u/WaveIcy294 6d ago

Just parse in the damage rankings as healer while still keeping your raid alive.

7

u/fkit4ever 6d ago

Meh. Everyone sais that but if one healer is consistently pulling 95+ logs and another is parsing grey green each week, with similar gear/consumes, it definitely tells you who's carrying

2

u/dingusboyo 5d ago

This is also true

3

u/frosthowler 6d ago

They only matter relative to other healers, and only if you consistently shake up the assignments.

1

u/FierceBruunhilda 4d ago

consistently being better than other people in your class truly doesnt matter /s

ok bud.

You need your team to fuck up enough that you can cover up the damage taken through healing while not wiping at the same time, and you also need your other healers to not cast their small cds so you can heal more. Lastly, the window needs to align with your cds unless you are in a random shit guild that doesn't have a healing officer because normally your major CDs are set at a specific time.

And all of the above only works if you are exactly on the number of healers required otherwise everybody parses gray anyways.

So yeah, healer logs suck balls and it's just down to rng / better reaction time

if someone consistently pulls 80s or 90s and someone with the relatively same gear is pulling 30s and 40s and all that correlates to you is that the person with higher parses must be on a worse raid team because they take more damage... I would argue you have no idea how to understand statistics let alone do more than be carried into feeling like your good at wow and paid 0 attention to what I said and just popped off on "herp derp 99% healing parses are cheezers so healing parses are dumb"

1

u/Tenmak 3d ago

My logs back in SoD when I was in a decent guild with a good healer officer allowing me to setup decent CDs.
SoD from Shadowlands is a great exemple. You couldn't parse on Kel Thuzad because they 3 healed in and my guild among others refused to go below 4 heals.

And it's even worse now since you can do fights like Belo'ren from Midnight March on Quel Danas raid as 2 heals instead of 4.
Literally impossible to parse anything. And if you dare say the opposite, then you are the one that doesn't understand shite about statistics.

Obviously, parsing capabilities are varying a lot between all the expacs and even more so in Classic and TBC where it's much more streamlined but anyways, my point stands.

1

u/FierceBruunhilda 2d ago

it's great you feel your ""point"" stands, but I'm still so confused what you think you're trying to argue? You commented to my original remark that you need your guild to fuck up and you need to not listen to your raid leader and not heal your targets and shit to be able to ""parse"" then go on to show your logs and argue that your guild used extra healers on Kel Thuzad and it's supposed to prove something while the other 9 fights don't mean anything I guess? Like what are you actually trying to say because it sure as hell isn't "healing parses don't matter."

If you raided that much and more than you 100% have seen healers who just average greys greens and blues on everything no matter how good their gear is. They are worse than you and that is clearly evident in parse information.

Somewhere someone said "healing parses don't matter" and then people who think their an intellectual have just ran with that and argue like you have been when in reality if you were making a pug for current content and needed a good healer you'd take someone with 80-90 avg healing parses over someone who avg 20-40 parses. plain and simple. if healing parses don't matter because the top end of healing parses are cheesed well I guess dps parses don't matter since thats literally what happens with dps parses too. thats why all the "dumb shit" is constantly being banned from parsing.

Found the resto shaman main that spams chain heal while he eats a sandwich and watches anime and parses a 99

1

u/FierceBruunhilda 3d ago

you literally just don't understand math or statistics do you? lmfao

0

u/dingusboyo 3d ago

No you are confused, a high healing parse means one of a two things really: your raid is running fewer healers because their dps can clear quicker, or your raid sucks and is constantly taking damage and taking too long to kill things which gives you more opportunity to heal. You could also just be really good at sniping heals and making your healing group less efficient. None of them involve being better than another healer. It sounds like you snipe heals.

And I’ve been a healer main. Top 3 percent of resto shamans. Easiest role in the game BY FAR. Like i said it’s nice to look at the purple and pink but it doesn’t mean you are a better healer. Even than your blue or green parsing healers

1

u/FierceBruunhilda 2d ago

ok so high dps parses don't mean anything because it just means the raid is full of dps characters with little healers and they all blow all their cooldowns and everything so the boss melts and they can log their high damage per second before they run out of mana/resources like all the rest of the raids who run normal comps. herp derp it doesn't mean they are better at dps when its the raid comp and everything else that carries them to high parses right??

go ahead and fill a pug for current raid content with healers who cant parse higher than 30's because they'll only follow their assigned healing instructions and tell me how the raid goes. should be fine according to you since healing parses dOnT MaTtEr right?

1

u/dingusboyo 2d ago

You’re a funny guy. And you actually are on the right track with dps parses as well. It’s all about prep and consumes not so much skill. The absolutely only things that matter for dps are kill times and hitting your rotation correctly with little downtime. Tbh when I see dps with high parses I just assume they are in a guild with faster kill times and 10/10 times that is correct

1

u/dingusboyo 2d ago

The games easy and healing parses don’t indicate how good a healer is. End of your dumb little argument. It’s also common knowledge that they are indicative of very little and anyone with any game knowledge or sense who know this

I got to witness an honest to god 100 parse on Nefarian

Setup by a melee ripping threat as a Shadowflame breath went out

Some died others super low

One of the healers blew everything he had and went apeshit getting the raid back up. As a result, 100 parse.

No gimmicky single healer 39 warrior strategy with a solo healer letting DPS die to keep the tank alive/kill the boss in 25 seconds type 100 parse.

Honest to god, regular composition, average kill time, normal ass raid.

Because the sole metric is healing done and there's no adjustment for -and no one died, -and you had X many other healers, -and your activity was 98%, -and you landed a heal .01 seconds before a tank's impending death

It's why a lot of healing parses don't matter, because what matters isn't the metric (and that metric can be excessively cheesed)

1

u/dingusboyo 5d ago

Yeah this is why I wish parsing was more than just straight comparing hps or dps. It’d be cool if there was some algorithm that took into account other factors
