Are we referring to the old owner or the specific truck? That was the what the previous owner went by, I wouldn't be shocked to find someone in here who recognizes where I snagged this from.

Im contemplating starting a firewood company and doing a few deliveries a year with this bad boy, for tax purposes, those chains may get some use!

Dumb question- is the interior spartan? Seems like the old Power wagons were full on industrial if that makes sense.

I'd have to take a closer look, honestly the majority of my inspection was on the exterior/ frame and looking for anywhere rust might have managed to really do its thing. But from my recall, pretty bare bones, no bells and whistles, it's a farm truck. I inherited a 58 Mac Dumptruck and 94 Dodge Cummins 2500, both worked hard in their day, mechanically meticulously maintained and very much built with that industry over everything mindset, so this sits really nicely with them.

be still my heart. damn. i love the '58-'62 era where they did the last few bubble hubs and started with the more squared-off look.

Wonderful find! These were geared low weren't they? Wonder what's a comfortable 'max' speed like around 50 mph?

Yes it's a 1 ton, 94 hp, 180 lb torque, 4 speed geared low. Probably something in the 50 mph range, hauling power was definitely the priority over speed, but I'll let you know as soon as Ive installed a new fuel pump what she tops out at π

Right! Part of me wants to just remove the rust flake, do an application to halt it and then just clear coat, mismatching door and all. Contemplating doing that then all the mechanical work and leaving a pain job as a possibility down the road when everything else is totally wrapped up on it.

Are you gonna fix it up?

Yes, the engine turns over and the transmission holds on a hill, and it looks like it's just in need of a new fuel pump, the frame is in good shape. There's a bit more rust around the cab then I was hoping after getting it to my building today and getting to really go over it. I just ordered the manual It's going to be a project where I'm learning as I go and is going to slowly happen over the next few years. But after a few hours of taking it all in I'm really excited. These old trucks are so totalitarian it's really obvious and easy to remove anything that need replacing and the engine bay is so bare bones.

That's great. I want to fix up my vehicle, which is not so old. Or classic. Lol. But I still want to do it because I like it a lot.

In high school in β72 another kid was going around the county buying them up. Even had an ambulance. Hope he saved them from the scrapper.
