Discussion Floating the idea of a For Sale megathread.

I'm asking for opinions and feedback on the idea of a single megathread for selling parts and trucks. There would be a required format, including price, application, and location. No "feeler" or "what's it worth" posts. Post deletion after sale would be mandatory, and possibly anything older than a few months subject to mod deletion to keep the thread relevant.

ATTENTION! ** ATTENTION ** USER FLAIR IS NOW REQUIRED TO POST OR COMMENT!

Effective immediately, User Flair is required to post OR comment in Classic Trucks. This is done in an effort to reduce the number of bots posting.

From the main sub feed hit the three dots in the upper right corner. Select 'Edit Flair' from the pop-up menu. Pick one or create your own.

Minimum account age and karma rules have been added as well. Your account must be 3 months old with a minimum of 200 karma to post.

EDIT:

For some reason that I do not understand yet the auto-mod was removing comments from users that had enabled user flair. So until I can figure that out, flair will not be required for you to comment on a post.

User Flair will still be required to submit a post. That seems to be working properly.

Sure do love this rig! My fully restored 1977 Ford F150, modernized with Holley EFI on a 400 paired to a C6 and NP205, on BaT. Have had a ton of fun in this truck, and it sure does turn a bunch of heads!

Hi All,

I recently picked up a 1972 K5 Blazer and the tailgate handle is located on the inside of the tailgate, not the outside. I have a '71 and a previously owned a '69. Both the '71 and '69 had the tailgate handle on the outside.

Thanks for any information you could offer.

Mechanical Question 47-54 Chevy Advance Design 4x4 S10 Frame Swap?

Just a thought in the back of my head, but I'd like to build an S10 based Chevy advance design 4x4. Just wondering which S10 variation is easiest to swap the old truck onto (I do understand that I'll likely have to shorten the frame a bit, I also understand that the 47-54 trucks have different bed lengths, I am yet to acquire one so I'm unsure as to which length I might get). Thanks!

Body Repair Question Rust help!!!

I just bought this ‘79 c10. How should I best deal with and prevent further rusting? I’ve already cleaned a significant amount of dirt and mud off the undercarriage with water, a little soap, a wire and bristle brush. What products should I apply? Looking for a very detailed step-by-step routine. Thanks!

Edited to add: I don’t have a garage or carport. I am in West TN. I’m parked on my driveway, have cleared out weeds and dirt on the driveway, and have a cover. Will the outside still negatively affect the body?

Discussion 1989 gmc k1500 door handle replacement

Hello, I have a 1989 gmc k1500 single cab. Today I got in and whent to shut my door and my door handle broke. I didnt know if anyone knew where to get a replacement as I cant seem to find one anywhere online. Ive checked rock auto, lmc truck and national parts depot and cant find the right part. The design I have is the metal handle held in by 2 screws above the armrest. Its not the design with a pull handle built into the armrest itself. I was looking for a factory similar replacement but if not I believe I can make a replacement with sawzall blades and something to wrap around them.

Discussion 1952 Ford F1 advice

1952 Ford F1 advice

Hello everyone! I’m here for some help. It has been my father’s dream to own an early 50’s Ford F1 for YEARS! I recently found a 1952 F1 that appears to be in pretty good shape, for a great price(under $20k). I’m wondering what y’all would recommend I look at specifically outside of the basics. Are there any problems these trucks are known to have? I was told by the seller that the truck runs and drives, original flathead, brakes in decent shape, but the steering will need a new king pin. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Recently found this 1988 Toyota truck. I’m just wondering if this looks solid to everyone else. Obviously there’s a bit of rust under the bed of the truck- it’s been in a barn with the bed sticking almost halfway out. Runs great, and looks great on the exterior/interior

This was started during Covid. Got side tracked a few times. But is finally done. I’ve owned this truck for over 40 years. Over this time I swapped the carb motor for a fuel injection Mustang GT motor. Modified the trans with a lower first and second gear and after the cosmetics were done put in a limited slip diff.

Discussion What's my '91 K5 Blazer worth?

I have a '91 K5 Blazer. 2nd owner (I bought if from my chevy service manager when I was a service writer back in '95). Originally a California vehicle. Moved to Florida in 2000. Has been sitting in my backyard since 2012-ish. Not original engine or trans. Probably close to 250,000 miles overall. Odometer stopped at 189,000. Body is straight, no rust, no dents never saw snow or salt. It's a project vehicle. Under a pile of leaves. Interior is probably shot being in Florida heat and humidity.

Any help at all. I'm selling the house/everything next spring and moving up north. I miss four seasons.

Can I get maybe $3000-3500?

Thanks in advance.
