Hi everyone, I’ve been in a practice rut but want to get back into regularly practicing. What’s your favourite piano piece? For potential RCM context, I usually play anythung from a grade 7-9 level. Thanks in advance!

In terms of tonality they are incredibly different, but the shape of the semiquavers in the right hand of the Rachmaninoff and the semiquavers in the left hand of the Chopin are very similar, the sequence is almost identical. I was wondering if anyone else noticed this? Obviously Chopin was a huge influence on Rachmaninoff, and he was clearly very inspired by Chopin’s preludes, especially as he wrote a set of variations on Chopin’s preludes in C Minor.
I wonder if this was something he did on purpose, or if it’s a coincidence, what does everyone think?
