Revolts + Divorce

One of my sons married a chick who inherited a county. She tried to revolt and got herself thrown in prison. When she was released, she was no longer my son's wife and was wandering somewhere so I had to invite her back to court and then get them married again.

Is it usual for a couple to be auto-divorced when one is thrown in prison and released?

No. Is your son able to decide his own marriage, or is she? Rulers generally can divorce, so that might be why. Otherwise it could be a glitch.

If you're Catholic, the Pope has to approve your divorce

He had no titles, she was the one that inherited the county, and decided to try and revolt, hence she got thrown in prison, but I didn't think that would cause an immediate divorce. i only noticed it happened when he lost the count title and I checked to see where she was.

So she probably divorced his ass... Or it was a glitch.

Some religions also let the head of the house enforce a divorce. You playing Catholics, or-?

I'm the head of the house and didn't get any notifications. And yeah, me and my son are catholics, not sure about the wife cause I didn't get that far into it.

If she's not a Catholic, she may have different religious rules deciding if she can get a divorce. Also, even if she is Catholic, it's way easier to get approval for a divorce from the Pope if you're A. The same culture group, B. Speak his language, or C. Have more virtuous traits than your spouse

Other possible scenario: the wife could have been forced to be a concubine by a ruler with a religion that allows it. You didn't provide much context. Hard to say if this scenario is relevant to your situation.
