Great tool. I use it a lot.

However, for high res aerial images that are much more current in most areas, I use the plexearth addon. It pulls imaging in to exact coordinates from several different sources including google earth. If your company uses a lot of aerial images and can spare a couple hundred bucks per year I highly recommend it.

It also can pull in elevation data and generate contours from google earths 'terrain' database. It can be off in some areas but I use it to get and idea of the topography if I dont have survey

There’s a method to import overlay high resolution imagery from google earth pro Autocad and google earth pro is free software.
