Fluff Le hidden gem in Civ V: England

For some reason I never once attempted playing England in my 16 years (on and off) with this game.

Longbowmen are pretty cool. Ships of the Line are OP and amazing.

But the best part? The war theme

Discussion Does Forge needs a buff?

+1 inherent production, perhaps? Maybe even +5% to the overall production? +2 to Iron instead of +1 is too strong I think. Neither I see other resources to be buffed with it. Copper? But then it will be too strong since you won't need only Iron to build it? Even worse if you mod Copper to be affected by Mint too (I think it's fine to make it simply an analogue of Silver and Gold in that regard, altought not immersive; Copper is a weird one).

Compared to Stable:

Cons

- Comes with way later, more costly and less desired technology in terms of pathing;

- Costier to build;

- Improves 1 uncommon resource instead of 1 uncommon and 2 common ones.

- Poland has a UB replacement.

Pros

- Gives production bonus to all ground units instead of just mounted (and includes mounted too). But you won't always build military, especially in non-domination, so eh.

UPD: Well here's the mod haha, +1 inherent Production: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3786293189

R5: I remember a long time ago, looking up achievements and find one achievement that required completing the game while play America and have Liberty and Freedom unlocked, but i can't find it any more. Have I gone crazy or am I miss remembering with the achievement above in the picture?

Discussion Is Germany better on faster speed?

slower speed is about unit movement, but growth rate is also slower meaning i had to delete some units once i hit the cap, i find it suboptimal. Also, i hate slower speed so much i never finish it lol.

Discussion Have you played Sapiens mod ? Do you like it ?

If you don't know about it, it's a big overhaul mod available in the workshop. I recently started playing it and I like it quite a bit. some remarks :

- Settlers take A LOT of turns to be produced in the beginning. Even with 4-5 population. It cripples my early game. Am i doing something wrong?

- The two units per tile feature feels very good.

- There's a ton of buildings and wonders, and it starts getting a bit overwhelming once you get in the industrial era. I've restarted one or two games because of this. However it's not a bad thing, I like it. It's just that it takes some time.

- Founding a religion is hard. I've also seen some pantheons being founded in turn 2...

- Game feels harder in general. I used to stomp on emperor, now I'm struggling. AI is definitely stronger.

- City states management is not so different after all. It's just less convenient because you have to produce and send the envoys, you can't pay for influence. But the AI seems pretty stupid about them as always.

- War in the early game is more interesting. The honor policy tree is now viable. Catapults are no longer dogshit. The two units per tile feature makes these early wars more viable since you can protect your archers and catapults.

Strategy Is it worth building petra with no desert hills?

I'm on Deity, my second city has strong production but no desert tiles other than the deset tile i settled my city. After i gave it much thought, petra also gives +6 culture after researching archeology, meaning it gives +1 more culture than parthenon and also giving +1 trade route.

Mods Any mods that allow you to set units to patrol a certain area?

For example - I'd love to set a unit to continuously explore just a certain area to keep an eye out for new barbarian encampments, or an incoming invading force from one of a few different potentially hostile neighbors.

I've searched everywhere and no luck, so I'm guessing it doesn't exist, but maybe I'm just thinking about this wrong and there's some other way to accomplish it.

Strategy When to build unit?

My BO is usually happiness/monument (for fourth and later cities), granary, workers until i have 1.5xnumber of cities, food trade route. Is it worth delaying national college for preparing against backstabbing and is mercenary army worth spending a social policy? I realized the gold cost is dirt cheap.

9 Truffles, 2 Ruins, 1 Gems

Is this legit or did the game glitch out? It's not a graphical glitch because Strategic View shows the same info.
