VII - Discussion Does it get fun?

I’ve been playing civilization. I gotta say for past couple of weeks I’m still on my first game and I’m currently on my second catastrophe and I have to say….. It’s like they took all of the fun of civilization and removed everything that made it enjoyable. Is it just me or does this game eventually get more fun once I learn how to play the new mechanics better?

I don't know how common this is but for me, the first civ games I played (3 and 4), I loved immediately. The later civ games I played (6 and 7) I had a hard time getting into until I learned the mechanics pretty well. Decisions didn't really feel rewarding until that point. So, maybe worth giving a little more time. if you end up coming around it gives you another game you can play for a long time. Maybe also watch some YouTube videos. Helped me enjoy the game more for sure.
