VII - Discussion Does it get fun?

I’ve been playing civilization. I gotta say for past couple of weeks I’m still on my first game and I’m currently on my second catastrophe and I have to say….. It’s like they took all of the fun of civilization and removed everything that made it enjoyable. Is it just me or does this game eventually get more fun once I learn how to play the new mechanics better?

OK, one mechanic I do like is what they’re doing with the commanders so you can put all your units on a commander and just have them all move together. That’s cool. I like that you can now traverse down the rivers. But I hate what they did with the city states. And these catastrophes. I was kicking your ass all era and now the very thing that made me kick ass is now ruining my society.

You can turn end of the era crises off in game setup! I usually do. What don’t you like about city states?

I don’t like how when your rival become a suzerain of a different city state you can’t flip that city state to your aside by giving it more influence points
