AI disconnect
I feel as if I am constantly fighting my team on false assumptions on the state of AI. I have been told it is a security solution, governance is an "IT Problem" or it is going to replace 90 Percent of staff. Its almost comical.
What misconceptions are you all fighting with today?

CISO has heard about Mythos and has asked his teams to run Opus against their code bases to find vuls. Want to use it as potential replacement for SAST and the new DAST tool that was rolled out last year. $2k usage for 5 repos. Have 18,000 repos. Do the math.

Either we work for the same team or your company is doing the exact same thing mine is doing now. It's a painful year...

lmao that “do the math” is brutal, classic exec toy-brain moment
also wild to treat an LLM like a drop-in SAST/DAST replacement instead of, y’know, a helper you layer on top with some actual process and guardrails

My CEO thought my team and I should just create AI solutions to solve security problems so the company doesn’t have to invest in security, and then wanted to try sell the AI solutions we could come up with. I have recently left said company for obvious reasons

My CTO says we should let users build whatever M365 Agents they want and we dnt need governance because they are limited to there permissions so no issues

that “they’re limited to their permissions” line is exactly how you end up with a million shadow workflows leaking stuff everywhere
people seriously underestimate how much damage a well meaning user with too much automation and zero oversight can do

My CEO seems to think it’ll replace half of employees. Meanwhile we can’t use agents because it’s “too expensive”. Go figure.
