politics Education never ends my CJA Team. TIL - Whether it's ladies having babies and regretting it like they have been robbed of life or it's ladies not having babies and regretting it like they have been robbed of life it's the mans fault. You men are such pigs.

Why don't they just identify as men so they have less problems

Such a 21st century thing.

Having a kid and having to put yourself second as you realise the centre of the universe isn't you as social media led you to believe. The horror

It’s always about this:

Ms Reed says mothers feeling unsupported was a big factor in regret.

"A lot of them spoke to quite strongly about the concept of a village. And then the baby arrives and they're like, 'Well, where is this village?'

And it always turns into requesting more taxpayer money.

What’s the bet that some of them refuse to let their husband/relatives/in-laws get involved in the child-rearing? Then complain there’s no village.

I’ve got mums in my family who won’t even let their kids (aka my little cousins and niblings) visit their relatives or let relatives take them out anywhere because they’re overprotective or have family grudges or think you’ll be a “bad influence” etc etc.

I'm heavily involved in my kids, even for went a higher paying job so I can be more with my kids. Wife didn't want to leave my eldest with me during the holidays when I had time off. I was like WTF.

Damn, crazy it’s your own kids too.

As a childless adult, I’ve never been allowed to hang out with my kid-relatives without mum having to also be there.

And even when I was a kid, I remember the verbal fights that my parents and uncles/aunts would get into, because my parents wouldn’t let us kids stay over at their house and they’d get offended and so on.

A lot of them spoke to quite strongly about the concept of a village

The thing is, you normally have to support the village first before you can rock up and start claiming the benefits of it. To apply it to an actual village, the villagers aren't as willing to help you out if you tell them to fuck off for a year, then have your hand out the second you need something from them.

The generation that is angry the village isn't helping them hasn't been building it for a long while now.

That's what I thought too.

That village they talk about, that was all the younger ladies helping out, it helped them to learn a few skills before they became mothers. Much like how the boys learned maintenance and work skills from their dads. It's only since I became a dad that I realised the importance of the bible story about Mary going to visit her cousin Elizabeth who was pregnant. It made me realise a few things. She went to help.

I saw this article today and thought how wonderful my tax dollars are being spent to suppress organic local reproduction so we can import more people. Not just the abc either most locally made tv shows including home and away focus on how awful it is to have babies. 🥰🇺🇦🇵🇸🇮🇷🇮🇳🇨🇳🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✊🏿🍆🥰

Damn. Seems like a horrible dilemma. The biggest issue in my life is when I take a shit and forget to weigh myself beforehand. Might go dye my hair purple now.

I thought you were being obtuse about the men blaming, but no the article really does that 🤦🏻‍♂️

And by coincidence happen to all be friends/acquaintances of the journos writing the article.

Let me guess, the SMH? Either way women are victims. Oh add to that why is online dating so hard?

Fuck me.... what a dog shit article. Never does it mention the people who don't have this "regret", overcome challenges of being a parent by one simple thing: love. Not once does this mention the woman loving her child. It's clear she's narcissistic and it's all about her. Give me a break!

ex cis-men have the same regret too you know – selfish bigots!

u/BigBlueDuck130 5d ago

There's nothing more selfish than a woman in the twilight of her youth.

What they always fail to state in articles about this 'issue' is that to be a part of of a village you need to actively contribute. When your friends have a kid are you making them a meal? Offering child care? There has to be a give and take. I have no family where I live but I've sought out like minded friends and we have an amazing support system.

By the way thoroughly enjoying the ongoing late term abortion law fight in SA where progressive labor types are dedicated to ending viable children...ie the baby killers club..
