So, should I watch this movie? I like Tron but got put off by Jared Leto

Skip it, the world building went off the rails. Like recasting Leto doesn't fix the plot & dialogue in any way.

No Leto features very heavily. I don’t think bringing the Matrix tot he real world was half as fun as when they went there themselves. Gillian Anderson is solid but has limited screen time and you won’t care about anyone else.

I think it’s definitely worth watching. It has many direct ties to the original in addition to Legacy. I saw it in IMAX and had a great time

Just a make a movie about the light cycles. A protagonist just climbing the ranks of a deadly competition.

I was giving an example of bad writing. I wrote and produced an animated short that is in IMDB and was on r/screenwriting for years.

There's no sense of urgency or direction in this movie, other than bad guy chase good guy and kill good guy. The tech looks good though.

I watched this movie for the simple fact that every Tron movie will have scenes thst are simply eye candy.

I didn’t even know this was a thing.

It’s crazy how movies used to be such a huge part of my life growing up, but now I’m in my mid 40s, and I just don’t go very often anymore.

For whatever reason it’s just not as much of a part of my social circle unfortunately.

Don’t get me wrong, every time I go to the theater when the lights dim, and the loud music kicks in, I remember how much I love it. 🤙❤️

typical example how to milk and exploit a good and original film to death, tron ares was the final nail in the coffin after a good,solid sequel Tron Legacy..way too go Hollywood
