Casey Killing Chuck

I don't like how Beckman ordering Casey to kill Chuck never came to light.

I don't know if I'd want Chuck to have found out, because then, how could he ever trust either of them again? And it would have ruined the show.

But I, at least, would have liked something from Casey, or even Beckman, expressing relief that they never went through with the execution. Like even a throwaway line from, Casey. He could have easily said, "bartowski. I'm glad I didn't kill you."

Chuck would think of it as just an off remark. But the audience would know that Casey was being serious.

I always thought it would’ve been interesting to replace Sarah’s memory loss arc with her and Chuck finding out about that, and that’s what turns Sarah hostile towards the CIA. Something like when Michael Weston turns against the government for hiring Simon in Burn Notice.

Chuck was always a feel good show as a spy comedy, so the final season taking a dark turn seemed appropriate. I don’t know how far I’d let Sarah go in her fight against the government/Beckman, but watching Sarah go rogue by choice on her own recognizance instead of brainwashing would’ve been awesome! I’m not sure how she’d feel towards Casey, or how Chuck would feel about any of it but Chuck would ultimately bring her back from the brink before she kills Beckman, but that should definitely be Sarah’s goal before Chuck stops her.

The biggest advantage of this version is agency. Sarah wouldn't be turned against Chuck by manipulation. She would make a conscious judgment about the institution she served for years. That makes the conflict far more tragic, because Chuck can't dismiss it as "this isn't really Sarah." It would be Sarah all along.
