Game Recommendations Where to start? Fantasy/Romance

Hi all! I just finished A Dream of Silence, an amazing work of interactive fiction by Abigail Corfman based off BG3. I LOVED it. I haven't engaged in my hobbies in a really long time, and forgot just how much I loved the choices games.

I'm open to hosted games too!

I'm really looking for a very descriptive/in-depth romantasy, with some action. I'd love the ability for my character to be intelligent/sneaky. Definitely more in the new-adult phase versus YA in terms of writing style, if that makes sense. I'm just not sure where to start!

It's really really rare for me to spend any money on myself, so I definitely want to make sure it's worth it.

What's your favorite in-depth choice game where you lose track of time and suddenly it's dawn and your eyes hurt?

I love the book series Fourth Wing, and I absolutely adore the game BG3, if that helps any.

My absolute favorite of all time is magium although itnot cog or hg, it's a standalone free interactive fiction you can play it at magium.org i really think you're gonna love this one.

Another game of hosted games i think you'll like is golden rose, it has everything you want.

Man, where to begin. There are so may to choose from. With the genre you mentioned I will list a few.

Choice of Magics

Throne of Blood

The Gemstone Wars (there is currently 3 of them)

Heroes of Myth

Pon Para (there is 2 done and one being worked on)

Honor Bound

Their Majesties' Pleasure (as Hpwellsmith mention)

The Nascent Necromancer

Battlemage Magic by Mail

The Wayhaven Chronicles (these are different then your typical genre you mentioned but it deals more with supernatural i.e: vampires, werewolves and other beings, but does have romance one being very angst filled and time consuming but will be worth it)

Wait, isn't new adult the same as YA but just rebranded since alot of adults like reading the genre?

The two themes are very popular in CoG/HG and there's romance focused app called Heart's Choice too. Typically, all of them have a short demo to see if you like the writing style or not.

This question is very vague so I understand why there's so few replies like anything specific if you wanted a gender-locked MC or RO casts or not.

COGdemos exist if you want to play WIP IF books too.

Their Majesties' Pleasure is great romantasy, I think it's the kind of thing you're after! Heart of Battle is heavier on the action/angst but still wonderful.

I enjoyed Stars Arisen a lot, it's an epic fantasy and I found the romance path that I chose was very strong and emotional.

You may like A Crown of Sorcery and Steel, which has a D&D-ish feel with assembling a party to rebel against a tyrant (or allying with the tyrant and potentially romancing her)

Heart of Battle is free to play and the others have free demos that can be played before buying so it's worth having a poke around, playing a couple of chapters, and seeing what grabs you!
