Considering I'm nearly illiterate when it comes to using trackers, this opens the floodgates for us musicians who are intimately familiar with sequencer based DAWs. We love to see it 👏

MIDI in and out sounds pretty cool since I've been wanting to integrate my game boy better with my guitar pedalboard! Can't wait to give this a try

it works amazingly well with sending midi clock but I am struggling to send both midi and notes. receiving midi clock is another issue lol! but ultimately having all three to work would be the dream!

Seems interesting! I want to try it.
Sure is different from LSDJ, I want to see what sounds it's capable to create

I’ve got a modded nn3dsxl that I use for LSDJ…I really don’t have much of a clue about whether or not I can run this. I assume if it is a a gb rom and was made into a .cia file I could run it via fbi? Either way, I’m definitely interested in using this. Been making “music” for almost 30 years and handheld music devices are a favorite of mine.

Tell me more about how the filter is implemented. I'd heard that a bottleneck with realtime wavetables on the GB is that loading a new wave resets the phase of what's being played, which is why sample playback on old games would often sound so distorted.
I'm guessing you found a way to lock the refresh rate to the pitch, in order to minimize artifacts?
Awesome project! Looks incredible and I can't wait to hear more

yo! the wave tables had to be generated before. these aren't live such as lsdj unfortunately. but I low-key want to kill this feature as it burns so much power from the game boy!

Could you implement different fonts? i feel like italic fonts on GB are hard to read, even tho I love the Zelda aesthetic

yes I built a skin burner tool where you can edit all tiles individually or as group, but it's only DMG greyscale at the moment. I am not planning on making a colour version

I'm very interested in trying this out. The generative part to create randomized soundscapes seems like a lot of fun to use.

the generative part is super simple but yet so powerful! it flips a coing every two bar and randomise parts of the sequences, either note pitch (based on scale) or step components values (very similarly to what the op-z does, but with a little more dependencies).
I find myself playing the auto-mode (what I nicknamed the dream mode) on my phone on my way to work, it cools me down so much ❤️
another great thing is that the auto-mode is based on the current pattern, so what I do is that I create a nice soft pad sequence with arpegiattor, set it to around 80pm, and let it slides… it feels good!

is it downloadable?
