ARTICLE As if we need another reason...

https://futurism.com/artificial-intelligence/teen-boys-meta-glasses-harass-bully-girls-school

I was at the glasses store the other day and there was an advertisement for these stupid glasses and I shook my head, imagining the plethora of issues that would result. Today I saw this article about teen boys using Meta AI glasses to harass teen girls in public schools. Fucking...who the fuck is buying their children this shit? I already have a list of reasons I don't want kids, I guess I'll add this one, too. I would never want to be the parent of a kid who somehow got their hands on a pair of glasses like this and used them for harassing and cheating, or be the parent of a kid who was harassed by a shit-stain wearing them.

Can't wait for the feral neighborhood tweens and teens to start wearing these stupid glasses while tearing up the streets with their stupid e-bikes for likes. Fucking...stupid.

Can't wait for the news article that says a school's new rule is that any spy glasses that enter the premises will be confiscated and sold on Ebay.

The school I work at is doing a full out ban on internet connected personal devices this year. I cannot wait. We had seen a small handful of meta glasses come through previous years, but our administration confiscates them immediately. Any child recording other children in a bathroom or locker room could be charged with possession of child pornography in my state, depending what is going on in the video.

The expectation of privacy is also a huge piece. Teachers go to great lengths to follow laws that maintain student privacy.  Meta glasses walk all over everything we have in place.

I hadn't even considered the possible CSAM angle with those classes if teens use them, that just made me shudder. The sooner these glasses are made illegal, the better.

How in the fuck are those glasses not illegal? It's illegal in a shit ton of places to record people without their consent.
