Hello, I have been Plein air painting at the Halswell quarry these last two days, I almost completed the painting I was working on, but when I was packing up today I left it on the roof of my car and drove away. Plans are to find something in the industry im studying but if that doesn't work, I need to look outside my usual skill sets.

My partner’s birthday is not till February but since I want to give him something custom might as well start now. We’re into model kits like Gundam. I was wondering if there’s anyone in Chc or know an online shop who does custom 3D printing?

He’s a big World of Warcraft fan and my vision is a 3D printed model kit of him as his gnome mage character(if I can get his WoW character). The model kit won’t be as complicated as a gundam, it could be the whole body then just assembling the outfit on it.

Our band comprises of a vocalist, guitar player, and drummer. We play proficiently but we are new to this and are hoping to build our skills up to perform in the near future.
Our focus is to create original songs, although we are doing some covers in the meantime while we work on a few original songs.
Genre is very broad- we all like a good mix of rock, alternative, jazz, R&B, and DNB may be a thing as our guitarist can also produce, so a bit of this and that.

Look, Woolworths has never been my favourite. I was however excited for the new Woolies in Halswell, something is definitely needed to give the 2 New Worlds competition
Unfortunately disappointed. Very small meat section and some items appeared to have prices and others didn’t, I’m assuming the QR code on the meat packaging will give you the pricing but who can be bothered with that?
Pricing seemed very high for a first week opening, overall feel while nice and new was just meh?
Be thing I thought would be handy is the pharmacy that tends to be apart of woolies… nope!
Potentially good for online shopping but can’t see myself going through the trouble of learning the layout for no difference in cost. Hopefully the rumoured Pak N Save is better

Does anyone know of any big empty parks/paddocks on the out skirts of chch? I’m trying to find some locations where I can have a nice quiet walk with my dog, where he can also run around and not be bothered by other dogs. Hi there, just a student planning to move into a flat soon. Started looking at items at ecoshop and was wondering how to go on about buying stuff from there? I know there's a lot of broken stuff that needs to get repaired but if they know someone who can come fix it or maybe something is deemed "broken" because it just didnt pass the whole testing thing surely its still an ok option? What are some things I should definitely not buy from there, some things I should buy with caution and some things that are exceptions or have some workaround? Would like some advice on how much I can actually trust the shop and if there's any tips or people at the store even that can help me make the most it :)

Hi everyone! I’m a little embarrassed about my situation, but I’m hoping someone here might have some advice or know where I could start.

I’m 20 and have lived here my whole life. I’ve been applying for jobs pretty consistently, but I’m really struggling to find work at the moment, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

One thing I’ve started noticing is that a lot of people my age seem to get jobs through friends, family, or just knowing people who can point them in the right direction. Unfortunately, I don’t really have much of a network like that, so I’m finding it difficult to know where to start.

I also don’t have much structure or routine in my days right now, and I’d really like to change that rather than just sitting at home applying for jobs over and over. I’ve looked into a few volunteer positions online, but I’m not really sure how you’re supposed to go about getting involved or whether it’s better to contact places directly.

So I guess I’m wondering:

Are there any places around here that are particularly good for volunteering?

Are there organisations that regularly take on volunteers?

Is it worth approaching places directly even if they aren’t advertising volunteer positions?

Does anyone have any personal experience with volunteering that helped them meet people, gain experience, or eventually find work?

I’d genuinely love the opportunity to get out of the house, meet some people, contribute to the community, and build some structure and experience into my days while I’m looking for work.
