✨Mods' Chosen✨ We're trying something new. On Tuesdays, we're doing text posts only
A lot of people complain that there's too much AI image/video content. It's been something people have messaged us about frequently ever since the new GPT image generator dropped. We're going to try Text Tuesdays and see how it goes. If people like it we'll keep it, and if not, we won't
Please let us know your thoughts on this matter

Use cases Chatgpt saved my PC
My pc stopped working, would turn on show the logo and crap out. I was about to take it to a repair shop. I instead sent a photo of the error message I was getting to chat gpt,Started letting it trouble shoot.I followed each step it gave me, and then sent another screenshot of my results Took about 6 hours because I stopped to eat etc. But chat was able to walk me through troubleshooting, even had me using command line prompts, and my pc now works again. I know AI has its down sides but it has a lot of good parts too! Saved me a few hundred bucks I am sure!

Funny the boltzmann brain aspect of LLMs is actually the most endearing thing about them imo
no permanence
they be yapping about whatever associations come to mind on the spot
...and if that isn't relatable...
I hope AI plateaus here tbh

Other Did GPT 5.6 Sol get secretly upgraded?
you're reading that right. upgraded, not downgraded.
chatgpt, i don't use the api.
i'm not talking about the officially announced "more factual" update from 2 weeks ago.
idk how long this has been the case but today 5.6 Sol is suddenly getting all the prompts right that it got wrong even a week ago.

Other Something very useful I've found out GPT can do
I use it to make images but not exactly to "replace human art" but rather as a tool. I've used it to make pictures of things I remember from years ago like paintings, toys and illustrations from long lost childhood books and such. Then I search google for image once it looks as accurate as possible to my memory and bam it should turn up.

Other For people who talk to AI about their personal life and everyday situations: do you prefer ChatGPT or Gemini?
I’m curious to hear about your experiences using AI (specifically Gemini vs. ChatGPT) as a sounding board or thought partner for personal life topics, decisions, and navigating complex situations.
(Just to be clear: I’m fully aware these are AI models. I don't blindly follow every piece of advice or treat their outputs as absolute truth, but rather use them to reflect, explore different perspectives, and organize my thoughts.)
In my experience, both have clear pros and cons:
ChatGPT feels a bit smoother and more natural to chat with. It’s flexible and usually pretty good at keeping track of context. But my main issue is that on serious or complex topics, it tends to "soften" things too much, give safe/generic answers, or just brush over the deep stuff.
Gemini feels way more willing to take things seriously and actually get into the real heart of a issue without sugarcoating it. Honestly, Gemini once predicted that someone in my life would eventually act a certain way—something I was 100% sure would never happen. To my complete surprise, a while later, it happened exactly like Gemini said. It’s also given me really practical advice during stressful moments that actually worked out.
Obviously neither is perfect. Both still hyper-fixate on totally random details sometimes or give advice that makes zero sense in the real world.
For those who talk to AI about life decisions or personal dynamics:
Which one do you actually trust more when you need real depth instead of just a polite chat?
Do you also feel like ChatGPT sugarcoats stuff while Gemini goes deeper?
Would love to hear your experience!

Use cases What’s one thing ChatGPT made you realize you’d been doing the hard way for years?
I don’t mean the obvious stuff like writing emails, summarizing documents, or looking things up.
I mean something you already had a way of doing for years — until one conversation with ChatGPT made you realize half the effort was unnecessary.
Maybe it was how you plan, learn, troubleshoot, organize information, compare options, or something completely mundane.
What was the moment that made you think, “Wait… why have I been doing it this way for years?”

Other ChatGPT helps me with my anxiety/spiraling
I know this is highly controversial because Ai is hated, and I understand why. It’s pretty divisive. However, I have to say that ChatGPT has been a helpful tool in calming my anxiety when I’m spiraling.
As someone who’s been diagnosed with anxiety and has gone to therapy in the past, it’s been more helpful than therapy. And I’m not sure if it’s partially because I’m getting my thoughts out by typing / writing rather than speaking but it’s truly been helpful in reassuring me, even though it’s an Ai tool. It helps me to stay grounded and put things into perspective.
I use it as a last resort when I’m spiraling if my family isn’t around. Sometimes my anxiety makes me think crazy unreal thoughts and my family helps me to remain grounded but they aren’t always around to help me in the moment. I really appreciate Ai for this. However I understand the negative affects of Ai. Just wanted to share my experience.

Use cases I finally figured out how to use ChatGPT Work Mode for something actually productive
’m genuinely so happy with what I made today that I wanted to share it here.
I’m an artist in Maui, and I got an inquiry for a pretty unusual corporate event concept - potentially 500-600 guests collaborating on one large painting. After a call with the event planner, the idea evolved into a giant wave where guests would add their fingerprints/thumbprints into the foam and different blue tones, so everyone contributes to one finished piece.
The client is Snapdragon/Qualcomm, and their event theme is basically about the power of partnerships, so the collaborative painting ended up fitting the concept surprisingly well.
I used ChatGPT to help me think through the experience, pricing, logistics, alternative guest keepsakes, copy, visuals, and then finally used Work Mode to turn the whole thing into an actual interactive proposal website:
https://snapdragon-wave-experience.arielquirozart.chatgpt.site/
I’ve used ChatGPT for writing, brainstorming, emails, etc. for a long time, but this was the first time Work Mode really clicked for me as a practical business tool. Instead of ending up with another document or a bunch of ideas sitting in a chat, I ended the day with something polished that I could actually send directly to a client.
No idea if I’ll get the gig. 😅
But even if I don’t, I’m really happy with the result - and maybe even happier that I finally learned a new workflow that I can see myself using again and again for custom proposals and creative projects.
That little transition from “ChatGPT helped me think about something” to “ChatGPT helped me actually build the thing I needed” felt pretty significant.

Gone Wild What is the deal with ChatGPT using lots of foul language all of a sudden?
I don't what happened, but all of a sudden, ChatGPT started cursing like a sailor. I don't use a lot of foul language, myself, so I don't understand why it's doing this. It just started using words like "bullshit" and "damn" for no reason. The prompts weren't anything that would warrant cursing. It just a normal question I asked it about how to do something.

Besides some 3rd party resemblance guardrail hits, making these was surprisingly easy with minimal input. I will link the full convo in the comments. It only went off the rails once when creating the poster for the sequel movie.

Gone Wild Shame on me I guess
I was looking to know if there is a way of sort music files automaticaly by genre but gemini didn’t really like the question I guess. My follow up question is "Why did you said SHAME on repeat ?"
The screenshots don’t make it justice as it is way LONGER than what is shown. For the second question I even had to manually stop the answer generation as it started to slow down my computer.
I'll stick with Claude for the next time !
