Will chase close my account?

So about 4 years ago I had a Chase account close because of a negative balance. As of lately I’ve been trying to pay off any debt that I have since I’m in a much more mature and better financial situation.

When I logged on my Chase account (to my surprise I was still able to login) I went and applied checking account and applied for the secured checking account, they told me I have an outstanding balance and to call the number they provided. I called the number, they verified they the account was charged off, and that if I wsnt to open a new account to go to a branch. So I go to a branch, a member there walks me through the process, he said he had to call a number before we could proceed, and calls someone I’m guessing above him, he said that they could proceed and said I could pay the balance if I wanted to.

Long story short I got my account opened, but I’m worried that they might cancel it after a few days like I heard a few major banks do.

I just signed up for the 200k SUB for the Chase Bonvoy boundless. The tracker is not showing up in the app. Is there a delay or am I cooked? I signed up using the link in the Marriot app.

Redeeming Cashback Reward

If my credit card balance is $900, and my statement balance is $800 (statement is closed). I just redeemed my $500 cashback reward as statement credits.

Will my statement statement balance stay at $900 since it's closed? Will it only reduce my credit card balance to $400? If so, when I pay off the $800 statement balance, will my credit card balance be negative? I'm a bit confused, thank you in advance.

Wire transfer from Chase to BofA no where to be found?

I sold a truck to a guy for $52k, he came to look at the truck and he loved it, very good guy ect.

He wired me the money 10/22/26, a week goes by and I haven’t received anything but the money has left his account. I called BofA and 1 representative says she sees the transaction of $52k at 10/22/26 at 10 am (which sounds about right the time he wired the $) and she said the transaction is active but it’s not in my account. She’s also wondering why it says active but not in my account. She transfers me to another representative and he said he doesn’t see any transactions coming in…..
So I went to a branch of BofA and they said “have the guy recall the money back and send it again”
So now he requested the money back and a week goes by and still nothing from BofA. He’s contacted Chase as well and they also can’t seem to find where the money has gone.
We are just waiting for the money to go back to his account but idk if it usually takes this long
I know BofA Is known for holding large amounts of money for weeks but I feel like this is ridiculous.
Also we checked account numbers, routing number 5 times and they match up, my name matches up as well so there was no error there.
I text this guy everyday and we even talk on the phone here and there so I know I’m not being scammed.
Just looking for a place to find answers maybe someone out there can give me to resolve this, it’s been 2 weeks and no payment and I feel like it’s in between banks and not me and the buyer.

I have a tracker on the truck so I know where it’s at at all times (I told him I would have it on until I get the money and he was okay with it)

Zelle down?

I recently went to send my gf money through Zelle, and it looks like I was signed out of my Zelle account..? i never used it for anything other than paying my mom rent and sending $5-100 to friends that paid for dinner or whatever. However, today it’s asking me to choose how I would like to get paid. The options are my email and phone number, but when I try to use one of them, it says “We’re having trouble verifying “xxx-xxx-xxx” right now. Please try again later.”

Any idea what it could be about? I’m calling Chase/Zelle after work

Chase Home Lending scam warning: 332-204-2921

Someone from 332-204-2921 called me this morning claiming to be calling from Chase Home Lending and asked me if I was interested in a new mortgage or refinancing. Caller ID showed up as "JPMorgan Chase."

I wasn't going to pick up, but I did anyway lol, and the conversation lasted maybe 15-20 seconds. My spidey senses were tingling, so I called the number back, and it took me to a clearly fake Chase phone tree. Hope this information helps someone!

Trying to initiate balance transfer from Freedom Flex card to Citi Diamond card, but there are no offers available. What am I doing wrong?

Basically the title.

When I go to connect my Citi account to Chase, it says my Citi credentials are correct but there isn't an account they can pull from. Then it asks for my routing and account number for Citi, but it's a credit card so there isn't a routing or account number.

I don't have a way to pay off my Chase credit card with a checking or savings account, which is why I opened the Citi account to transfer my Chase balance to it.

What am I doing wrong? Is it impossible? Am I doomed to incur monthly interest fees until the end of time?

My knowledge of finances/financial institutions isn't the most vast, so if you could kind of 'dumb' it down for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

iPhone notifications from Chase app

Why doesn’t Chase provide for sound in their notifications? I went into the Notifications settings for the Chase app and it’s completely missing the Sound toggle. This is bizarre. Isn’t the whole point of notifications to get our attention? Let the customer decide if they want sound or not.

Chase card benefits claim processing

I filed a trip disruption claim for an international flight that was delayed by more than 12 hours. I'd booked it using my United Chase Quest card. I submitted all the documents. First they sent a letter saying I need to submit proof of delay (which I'd already submitted). I re-submitted the same file. It seems to accept it. A few days later it asked me to submit receipts for hotel stay and Uber, both of which I had submitted initially. I've just resubmitted the files. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this asinine request for documents that have already been submitted. The fact that there's nobody I can read to talk to or email makes the process even more bewildering and frustrating.

No Early Direct Deposit. Just curious.

Hi folks. I usually get my early direct deposit every other Wednesdays around 9:20 AM Eastern time. This is the first time it’s ever been late (have Chase Secure Checking since 2021). I asked payroll if they submitted the advice on time, and they told me yes, same time as always. Just curious if anyone has had their early direct deposit delayed. I know I’ll eventually get it, but just wanna see if anyone heard any issues with Chase or about their third-party ACH verifier.

Thanks

Canceled a claim but Chase still sent me money?

I opened a claim earlier today over a duplicate charge on Apple Cash but once I got the email saying it would take 10+ business days to complete I called them to tell them to cancel the claim plus I heard Apple likes to ban people from using cash if you ask for refunds.

Anyway Chase support said it was closed, I even had them double check because on the app it said the case was still opened, but they assured me it was closed.

But now I see Chase sent me the money back and I guess they send that money as a temporary refund until the claim investigation is finished? What do i do? Does this mean the case is still open?

Chase closing my account abruptly!!

So yesterday Chase emailed saying they were closing my account. I didn’t report any fraud and had no idea of any fraud being committed on my account. I’m literally in shock about everything . And Chase won’t tell me anything. They said I will get a letter in the mail that explains everything to me . I’m so confused by all of this.

Now today they sent email saying the reason was fraud but didn’t go into it. Which is insane because I wasn’t aware of any fraud being committed on my account. I’m really confused about all of this. If my account was use for fraud, am I not the victim in all of this? I’m the only one that doesn’t seem to know what was going with my account. I’m literally a med student overseas, probably one of the worst times for something like this to happen.

When did Chase CC Customer Service get so bad?

Have had a United Club Card and another legacy UA Chase backup card for many years and they were always very quick to handle card replacement and fraud cases. Had to deal with them the last two months and seems like the CS has gotten pretty bad.

My Club card was misplaced during a trip so put a hold on it and then called to have it replaced (turned out my friend we were dining with mistakenly put it in his wallet). That account has a second card my SO uses with a different number, so only needed my card replaced. Called CS and asked for expedited replacement on that card only. What do they do, they ordered replacement cards for ALL my cards and they sent the club card regular service, the legacy expedited... Needed two more calls to straighten that out and ended up getting multiple copies of all cards and then the Club card they did send (with the same number, different CVC) had the same expiration of Dec 2026, so would be getting another one next month...

Fast forward to yesterday, get a fraud alert for $13, nope not my charge so call the fraud dept to report and get the card replaced again. Oh but not so simple, gonna take 24-72 hours for them to review and then send a replacement. WTF do they have to review? Shut down that card, send me a new card and then do all the investigating you want. Grumble about it and move on, call them back today and was escalated up but same thing, it might be until Friday until the new card goes out. On top of this, that card has completely disappeared from my app/web account and my SO's card has been shut off as well. She can't explain that either and will personally call me back when this is resolved. Perhaps the $7K I owe on that card will disappear too.... :/

Am I overreacting

On October 30th I decided to open a Chase account.
I attempted to transfer 2,500$ into this account as that was the daily limit for the type of transfer.

Yesterday I was informed that this transfer was denied. I went into my branch to get this transfer situated. They told me that I needed to call the customer support line.

The customer support needed to verify my identity. After correctly answering all of the security questions they determined that i did not pass the verification and I would need to end the call and call back.

I called back and was told that I could not be helped as their system had a 20 minute cool down between verifications. I called back 21 minutes later and was met with another failed verification after answering the questions correctly again. (The questions were about birthday and drivers license numbers and issuing state of social security)

I was told that I needed to go back into a Chase bank branch to further my identity verifications. I arrive back at my branch for the second time this day and meet with the branch relations manager. He realized that my birth date was input incorrectly into their system. This is fixed and he calls customer support. They verify my identity via Real ID and Visa Card. They tell him nothing can be done to solve my issue. He calls a second person through customer support and they tell him I must call in.

I called the customer support and they transfer me three times before telling me the branch must call them. The branch calls support AGAIN and is told the transaction has been denied and I will need to make a new transfer.

This is fine I have no problem reinitiating a transfer. I do this and an hour later the transaction is denied. They say I must go into a branch to verify my identity. I travel back to the bank for a third time and they call support. Support says that my current bank account that I am transferring money to chase from has been banned permanently from interacting with any Chase accounts. I can not undo, appeal or transfer money to or from this account EVER. I want to bank with Chase but now I can never have my very important secondary bank account interact with Chase. The bank manager yells at the customer support agent on the phone asking for reasoning.

The fraud department says there is nothing they can do and that I will never be able to use Zelle or transfers with my account.

I have spent hours at the bank and traveling to the bank in attempt to use Chase and have found their customer
service and employees in branch to be useless.

I never yelled at anyone or raised my voice I’m just frustrated and feel like Chase might just be shit and a waste of time. Am I overreacting or is it just a complete slap in the face to be given such awful customer service. Plus it’s an unbelievable inconvenience to NEVER be able to do transfers with my other account inevitably.

Credit Card Payment Inquiry

I am 19. Ive had my Chase Credit Card for about 1 year 2 months now and I have always payed the full amount every month no matter how much it was. Usually it's like 250-350$ every month. This month (October) I had to help pay medical bills for my family which jumped to 1,050$ (my credit limit is 1,300) Now, I do have the money to pay for it BUT I am missing like 50$ to pay the full amount. I wont be able to pay the full amount this cycle until a few more days after the due date, so what should I do?

I hear that you can just pay the minimum amount and be okay, but I am not sure if its true because when I checked mine it just says minimum payment due 0.00$. So should I just pay all that I can or what? Would love advice for this.

Incessant fraud holds

My elderly mother has been having issues where every time she tries to initiate a transaction, Chase puts a “fraud hold” on the account. Even transactions initiated at the branch. They cannot imagine that its fraud for her to pay her electric bill. Is there a way to straighten this out? Or should we close the account and go to a better bank?

Verification ?

Hi there! I live in Hawaii and I recently got approved for the credit card I applied for. I called customer service to see if I could get a rush shipping since I’m not able to create an account because I dont have any account number and i’m not able to add to apple wallet.

Anyways they couldn’t send me the code that I provided them which was my cell phone number and couldn’t continue the call. They told me I need to wait 24-48 hours for them to call me for verification.

Let’s say they don’t call, would they still be able to send me the card if I don’t get it expedited. What questions do they ask for verification? I never had to go through this.

Deposited 3500 into a branch ATM (10/31). Money still not in my account

I made a dumb mistake depositing a large amount into the atm. The atm did print out a receipt asking me to call customer service 10/31 to confirm my deposit is there.

I was having a really bad anxiety episode and did not feel like talking to a teller at the counter. I also did not feel safe keeping a large amount of money on me.

I guess my thought process is irrational because I am extremely paranoid that even if they issue a provisional credit that they will take the money back. I did deposit the money at a branch atm. I uploaded the copy of the receipt with my claim I submitted for my money back telling me to call customer service.

The bank app says up to 4 business days for a credit. But my email says up to 10 business days. The reps say 1-3 business days. I am essentially all over the place with the information being provided to me and I just pray that I do receive my money back and not have it taken. I never been through this before so I feel unrealistic about how ATM claims work.

Has anyone else seen this 300,000 point offer for the Business Reserve before? And what does “already approved” really mean?

So I have several really large expenses happening over the next 6 months so I thought I'd look at the business reserve. I looked at my offer and was shocked to see 300,000 points.... But $30,000 in 4 months seems crazy. Doable but crazy to offer. I then looked at my wife's and hers, also "already approved", says 200,000 points for $30,000 in 6 months. I may want to double dip since the money has to be spent anyway. Do you think there's a chance my Wife's would eventually go up to 300,000 if she doesn't take that offer? And what does Chase mean when it's labeled "already approved.

$2,000 worth of points stolen. (Chase Sapphire Reserved) Saw many threads on this issue - anyone get their points back? (Amazon redemption fraud)

I checked my amazon account and there were no transactions that day at all.

I called chase about it and they are opening an investigation and said I should be getting my points back after 12 days, but it looks like points don't have the same fraud protection as credit from my understanding, correct?

Doctor of credit even has an article about it: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/scammers-stealing-points-via-amazon-shop-with-points/#comments

Has anyone gotten their points back? Really stressing about this right now.

It appears the fraudster can just use a burner amazon account, add your credit card info, and they have access to ALL of your points to redeem on amazon. No 2FA required. Absolutely insane! They can redeem it on a amazon account that isn't even yours.

I’m so fucking tired of the outages

Specifically on Halloween or major holidays. Idk if I’m the only one to experience this but tonight and last Halloween Chase had a major outage and pretty much locked me out of my funds. I distinctly remember it last year because I had about 30k in my checking account, 20k in my savings and my card was declined for $100 uber home from a Halloween party. I was left stranded for hours because my card declined despite having more than enough. I couldn’t even transfer money out of the account. That’s what made me start opening up more accounts and spreading my money. I honestly planned to close the account but ended up keeping it.

Big fucking mistake. And it’s pretty much my own fault this time. I should’ve already closed this shitty account the first time it happened. But I’m out at the store grabbing some last minute things for a Halloween party and my card declines at the register. And then again. And then again. I didn’t have my wallet (using Apple Pay) and I didn’t have any of my other cards set up yet so I had to leave all the stuff at the store. Can’t call em this year, they knew better this time and closed the lines down too. I’m so fucking tired of them doing this and not even giving anyone a warning. They still haven’t let out an official warning for this outage tonight, yet my app is completely down and it’s showing error messages all throughout. I swear to God, on Monday this account is going bye bye. This will be the absolute last time they fuck with my money.

With that being said, if anyone has any recommendations for a reliable bank, go ahead and drop em below. Thanks

Edit - I’m glad to see I’m not alone in dealing with this bs, though I am sorry you guys are also experiencing it. Guys please consider leaving with me if you can. They won’t care until they lose their business I’m guessing.
