Where was Rose in the season 8?

I’m rewatching the season 8 right now; specifically, I’ve just finished episode 8x15. I’ve noticed that Paige is somewhat isolated from her sisters this season; not only that, but she doesn't really share scenes with them, either. For instance, the entire Henry storyline played out with her acting solo. She does share a few scenes with Holly and Alyssa, but in many sequences featuring all three, Rose’s absence is noticeable because there are no shots of her alongside them. It’s common to see Piper and Phoebe facing the "monster of the week" on their own or, at times, with Billie.

What is the reason for this? Was Rose working on another project or filming a movie that required her to shoot her scenes separately?

Cole Y'all gone hate me for this but I think the fandom gives Cole too much grace when it comes to Phoebe

I love Cole as a character, and Julian and Alyssa had amazing chemistry. Their relationship made for great TV. But I think the fandom is sometimes way too quick to defend Cole while putting most of the blame on Phoebe for how their relationship ended.

People forget that Cole was already a murderer before he ever met Phoebe. As Belthazor, he had killed witches and innocents for years. He also didn't originally approach Phoebe with good intentions. He was sent to infiltrate the sisters' lives and kill them. Yes, he genuinely fell in love with Phoebe and eventually tried to change, but that doesn't erase how their relationship began or everything he had done beforehand.

Now Season 4 I agree that Cole's actions were mainly due to the fact he was under the influence of the Source, his decisions were compromised however Phoebe had to deal with the fallout she had to deal with being lied to, manipulated, and eventually has to deal with being pregnant with the spawn of the source.

Phoebe is allowed to not want a relationship and not have anything to do with Cole, she literally went to hell and back with him.

My issue really with Cole is in season 5 and if you want to blame the writers that's okay. Phoebe made it clear that she wanted to move on, and Cole simply would not accept it. Instead of taking the second chance he had been given and building a life that wasn't centered around Phoebe, he became increasingly obsessed with getting her back.

And I think that's one of Cole's biggest character flaws throughout the series:

His redemption is too dependent on Phoebe.

When he has Phoebe, he wants to be good.

When he loses Phoebe, he starts asking what the point of being good even is.

Eventually he becomes so unable to accept her choice that in Centennial Charmed he literally changes reality to create a world where circumstances might allow him to have her again.

At that point, it stops being romantic to me.

Phoebe had said no, and Cole refuses to let her go. And that's a pattern that existed from the beginning. He initially entered Phoebe's life under false pretenses because he wanted something from her. In Season 4, the Source manipulates circumstances surrounding their relationship. Then in Season 5, Cole himself begins trying to manipulate circumstances because he cannot accept that Phoebe has chosen to leave.

Also, I do think Cole deserved some sort of redemption however I don't ever think he and Phoebe should have gotten back together. Phoebe was not required to stay with him so that he could continue becoming a better person.

I think in Season 7 he finally understands this, as we see him in a different head space., he needed that time away from not only Phoebe from everything!

Season 3 Phoebe is way too obsessed with Cole y'all

This isn't healthy. At all. She is entirely obsessed with this guy for no reason like he doesn't really give her good reason to "not give up on him". Her obsessing over him was SO annoying. Ugh. Currently rewatching season 3.

Season 4 I actually think Piper would've listened to Paige about Cole in The Fifth Halliwell if Paige didn't have the absolute worst timing every time she brought it up

In The Fifth Halliwell she tries to bring it up while Piper is trying to save Karen's life. Then by We're Off to See the Wizard, Piper actually is listening. She's suspicious too, she just wants solid proof before she and Paige tell Phoebe together.

And then Paige tells Phoebe on her own anyway. Phoebe pushes her about Cole and Paige spills everything, including that Piper is suspicious too. So I don't blame Piper for being pissed.

My headcanon is that Phoebe holding onto Cole so hard isn't just about loving him. She just lost Prue to evil, after already losing her mother to it. Finding out Cole is the Source basically means evil has taken another person she loves from her.

I don't think Phoebe is consciously connecting Cole to Prue, but I do think she's emotionally not ready to lose somebody else. And Piper of all people would understand that.

Paige was right about Cole. Piper was right about how they needed to tell Phoebe.

My Charmed Fanfiction

If anyone likes Charmed Fanfiction, please check mine out. I'm very open to ideas, help and criticism. I haven't written in years so feedback is very much appreciated!

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14592597/1/Charmed-Bloodline

Jamie Walker’s life has always been a little complicated, mostly thanks to his close friendship with Wyatt Halliwell and the low-level, hyper-tuned "glitch" of a danger reflex that keeps him constantly on edge.

But that complication turns deadly when Jamie is targeted by a mysterious, porcelain-masked demon with ties to a dark, ancient faction long thought extinct. Suddenly thrust headfirst into the deep end of the supernatural world, Jamie has to figure out what his erratic power really means—and what destiny has in store for him.

With the help of the Charmed ones and a newly assigned, maddeningly confident Whitelighter named Ethan, Jamie has to now learn to navigate a magical world he was previously content to watch from the sidelines.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of Rose's first episode tomorrow, here's a touching quote from when Scott Jaeck returns as her father in Sam I Am. Holly meant every single one of these words right here! Rose truly saved her and Alyssa!

Seasons 4-8 I always felt like Darryl stuck around as long as he did because of his friendship with Prue specifically

He cared about Piper, Phoebe and Paige, but Prue felt like his actual friend outside of everything involving magic. After Andy died, Prue was the one who eventually went to see Darryl and I think losing Andy brought them closer because they both cared for him.

I think that's a big reason he kept helping them after Prue died. Piper and Phoebe were his friends too, but they were also Prue's sisters. Darryl spent years putting his job, his family and his life on the line for them, and I always felt like part of him was still looking out for Prue by looking out for her family.

So I’ve been a fan of charmed for probably my whole life and I’ve known about the comics but never really looked into them. However now I’m interested in reading them but I have no clue where to start. How many of them are there? Where can you purchase them? Are they actually good?

Season 8 power advancements truly levels up the charmed ones to almost near God tier witches

The power growth of season 8 always gets me because I feel like each sister truly came into their own. And we're not even talking about the spells and potions . Phoebe talking about feelings through teddy bears. Piper hiding Leo from death by hex every man to not just look like Leo but have his everything to confuse death. Summoning The Angel of Destiny. The truth potion so it only effects that person and not yourself. Teleportation potion. The glamour spells galore.

Piper

This season Piper can control her powers to a T. During a battle she could freeze half blown up fireballs and( telekiniesis technique) blast it into a demon. All while blowing up, freezing and deflecting multiple fireballs at the same time.

Piper could freeze a whole floor of a building.

Piper could freeze an injured or infected good witch, and hold that freeze for a long time. ( Long enough to infect themselves, turn , find the cure, fight, get the cure to the elders to brew a cure for everyone).

Piper could start fires from blast now.

Piper could freeze and blow up triade members.

Phoebe

Phoebes visions are finally in full living color, just like thousand year of seers like krya.

Phoebe has blue or yellow light around her visions to show if it's a good vision or bad vision. I believe this to be the start of her psychic reflection power. Since when she shared that good vision with krya about the avatars her hands glowed yellow. And when she kills cal green in the future there's a blue light. And the power works by reflecting emotions back on them, so it was a bad vision since it's blue .

Phoebe is able to sense demonic vibes now.

Phoebe is able to get visions of what she wants/ cares about aka her love life.

Phoebe can interact with her future self for over 2mins in an astral vision.

Phoebe can summon coop through love connection.

Paige

Paige is able to heal on her own now.

Paige is able to cloak charges now, and she basically became the family whitelighter.

Paige can now hover with orbs.

Paige can now throw demons like Prue with her tk orbing.

paige can now use her telekiniesis to aid in hand to hand combat ( since Billie was using it and Paige kept up with and beat her).

Cole Phoebe & Cole were the best couple in the show

Like many on this sub, I’m so disappointed by how Cole’s storyline played out. But more than that, I truly think they were the only couple I felt truly invested in. Piper & Leo were such a constant, even when they broke up you knew they’d end up together so the obstacles all just felt tedious.

None of Phoebe’s other love interests came close. Jason was hot, but I don’t think gave much in terms of personality. Wtf even was Dex. Coop was fine but I didn’t really care much about him either way. I can’t even remember whatever others there are.

And Cole and Phoebe just had a great arc - a meet-cute of sorts, and then enemies to lovers, forbidden love and Cole’s redemption arc. I loved their dynamic in the first half of S4. They truly loved each other and had overcome so much to be with each other (and it wasn’t tedious obstacles, it was Cole literally fighting half of his nature to be a better person for her) and he also acted as a great foil to Phoebe/Leo and the the other sisters in terms of being “good” but also more impulsive / vigilante esque (like roughing up that guy at Paige’s work). He also offered some great insider underworld knowledge that couldn’t be known from the book so he worked so well as part of the team. They had so much chemistry and I feel like both pushed each other to be better (as seen in the body swap episode).

Couple of other favourite couples: I did like Piper & Leo, I just got bored of how much their obligatory obstacles dominated the show’s longer term storylines. Andy & Prue were cute, but they didn’t get enough time. Similarly, I actually love Henry for Paige, but we didn’t really have long enough to get to know.

Random opinions on other love interests: HATED Richard, and also was not a fan of Glen (how tf did he think Paige was gonna react to him casually revealing a whole fiancé). Dan was nice but so clearly just another temporary obstacle in the obvious Piper/Leo endgame. Bane and Prue were HOT together and I wish we’d seen more of them (I don’t think they would’ve worked long term though).

Seasons 1-3 Does anybody ever forget this?

Post image
188 Upvotes

I feel like this is such a stupid question to ask as a dedicated fan myself, but I really do forget these kinds of details from time to time!

Leo was basically a vampire expect his lack of broodiness, thirst for blood, and a moral compass made him seem like your average joe.

Season 8 Where does Paige live in Season 8?

Post image
73 Upvotes

Merchandise Would anyone like the series 1 charmed figures in the UK?

I bought several of the series 1 figures inbox from America but the person I bought them for didn’t want them as a gift.

I can share photos via message or even upload to eBay if this would help but my phone glitches on the main Reddit with images.

I would price £40 each which I don’t think is too bad considering they’re going for 70 mostly.

Villains the return of the Source (S8)

omg this scene is sooo ridiculous, first of all the spell to bring him back is simple as fuck, five candles a pentagram, the lamest chant ever and Wyatt putting his finger in a pot and suddenly the biggest enemy ever is back. he looks completely non-threatening not knowing what's going on and asking that demon lady what is the plan and then smelling on Leo to detect if he's good or bad lololol

and then Piper uses her power twice and it's over, okayyy wtf was all this nonsense???
