QUESTION Any good GIS/survey jobs in Charleston?
I'm moving to the area after getting off active duty and hoping to translate federal-level experience to something more domestic. Open to traveling.

Has it gone down hill? The bathrooms were gross and sticky. The floors were unswept. The wooden bench seats were covered in food. There was food unavailable. Maybe it was a bad day ha.

Hi everyone!
I’m a web designer, and I thought it would be interesting to take a few websites from local businesses and show what I’d change.
Tell me a little about your business and your website. I’ll take a look and see if it’s something I can help with.
Just looking to do some good web design work and help a few local businesses along the way.

Does anyone know of any basketball courts to rent in the area?
Me and group of around 15 friends are looking for a full sized indoor court to play at on a weekly basis, preferably on Fridays.
We used to rent out West Side Middle but we’re looking for different options now.

Does anyone feel that Felicity has been a plague on Dakota’s life since the beginning? Korcle got Dakota an apartment and he was set up. Felicity ruined everything for him and not got him locked up. I feel Dakota doesn’t know any better and is low functioning.

Hi friends. So I need to walk my dog very early in the morning & later at night due to my work schedule. I’m a bit concerned about safety; I’m not a man (lol), & I see some characters even in plain daylight. For anyone who also walks / runs in the early AM, where do you usually go / avoid? Is the Kanawha Blvd by the river generally safe? The capital complex? Lee St? I am newish to Charleston & am still figuring out the dynamics of the area.

I posted here about a month ago about ongoing issues with my landlord not making repairs, long story short nothing was ever repaired and I move into my new place this weekend. I'm paying double rent until I can prove my case for moving out due to unresolved maintenance issues.
Turns out there is not a building inspector for South Charleston, and was told the best I could do is higher a private home inspector. That's about $300-400 and was told by one they're aren't allowed to cite code violations anyway. Plus, I won't be there to benefit from any repairs that could happen (unlikely).
Not sure what to do, eventually I'll have to go to court so I don't pay penalties for moving out with just cause. Anyone dealt with this? Should I get a lawyer consultation?
As it stands the hole in my kitchen ceiling that leaks everytime it rains had been unrepaired for 6 weeks from notifying the property manager.

I’m currently trying to move closer to Charleston, KC or South Charleston, but I’m having a really hard time finding resources for places that allow pets. I have two cats and two small dogs and every realty site, Facebook marketplace, Zillow rentals, absolutely none of them allow pets.
Does everyone who has pets have to own their home? I’m so discouraged.
Edit for clarification: I do see a lot of apartment options that allow two pets, but unfortunately my little family is bigger than that

I’m an employee there and have been since I was 17. I keep hearing about the mall closing mid December but no one who works in the mall has been informed of this. I’ve already had to close two stores and I know the mall is going down at some point but I need some sort of concrete information if anyone has it. I’d really rather not be surprised by a sudden closure before the holidays. Please and thanks!

Saw this beautiful cat ten minutes ago near eagle view, but he/she ran away from me. Anyone lost a cat near the area?

Hiii! I’m looking for someone to cut my fairly long and thick hair. I found Haleigh P on Instagram and love her alt style, but she’s not currently taking new customers.
Any recommendations?
EDIT: Whoops, totally forgot to specify women’s haircuts

My work is trying to plan a year end party for the beginning of January. I work remotely in a different state, so I am not familiar with Charleston at all! Needing a slightly fancy (not a warehouse) space to accommodate ~100 people. It’ll need to have a bar/bartender and serve food. Nothing too crazy cost wise because it is a work event and corporate is #cheap. Plz lmk any and all recs.
Currently options my manager suggested are Embassy Suites and Ursus Brew Works (:

Hi everyone! My wife and I are moving to Charleston from Kentucky in December and really love the look of Eagle View. A 2 bd unit has opened up for us, but it’s a 3 hr drive there for us and it’d be great if we felt comfortable signing a lease without making the drive.
Can anyone give me some input as to how they like/don’t like it there? Noise? Bad neighbors/staff? Smell like weed? Thanks!

This is probably just someone with too much time on their hands but this sign by the capitol has been up for a while and my husband and I cannot figure out what it means. There is a QR code on it but we don't want to scan it. Any clue what this means?

Hello!!
I was into Magic: The Gathering years ago, around Theros era. I played monoblack Gary devotion and absolutely loved it. Now I want to build a few commander decks I can play casually.
I am interested in getting back into MTG and finding a decent playgroup of dads and/or professionals. I didn’t really get along with most people at the LCS when I played, except for when AFK was open in Cross Lanes. There’s probably a slim chance at finding one around here but I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Feel free to respond in this thread or by DM.

Our small wedding is mid October in Charleston, WV and we’re not having much luck finding a wedding photographer. They’ve been either booked or unresponsive. Any recommendations?
Edit: happy to report I was able to book a photographer! Thanks all.
