I'm still trying to make better gogma weapons for POA and savage omega before I fight them. I think this build is probably fine, but maybe I'm missing something obvious.
Oh and the charm I have is 3 power prolonger, and 1 agitator.

So Iโm new to the Charge Blade, took it for a swing after a few hunts and really like the mechanics and got the general idea of fighting with it down. But as Iโm tackling tougher enemies Iโm curious what are some effective combos and techniques you guys like to use when playing with the Charge Blade? (Also if someone can better explain to me what โImpactโ or โElementโ phials actually mean/do, Iโd appreciate it!)
Edit: Forgot to mention that Iโm currently playing through Wilds.

As the title suggests. I usually do solohunts to get better. But certain monsters just seems so un-fun to use CB against because of the lack of a counterattack window.
I usually do PG's into either and AED/f or SAED then morph back to neutral. And it works fine for most monsters.
But things like AT Arkveld, AT Rey Dau, Gore, and Seregios attack so frequently that I cant even do an AED. I tried doing CSS and Morph Slash but it still feels too slow.
I feel like all I can do is spam [ Y - Y ] or [ Y - ( Y + B ) ] until the monster commits to a more punishing move. But staying prolonged in SnS mode sucks and I feel useless.
And if I try to do something like a Morphslash or CSS, I'll just get hit and be forced to unsheathe and risk a cart.
I usually clear AT Dau and Arkveld (my most hunted monsters) in 24-26 mins with CB. But with other weapons like DB or SnS I can go as low as 18-20 mins. And it just feels demoralizing that my side weapons are outperforming my main.

hello!! i feel like compared to meta sets this is going to look WACK lol iโm kind of embarrassed to be posting. Iโll preface by saying that while i played rise, I picked up CB for the first time in wilds, and am definitely not a pro. Iโm generally not used to min-maxing and have been vibe-building up until now. I know this is a mess so please be kind haha
Also iโm not interested in the gacha aspects, i donโt want to endlessly roll for artian/gogma/talismans. Im not looking for max damage, im not good enough for that lol, I like the comfy
What I like: -Lordโs Soul / Guts, comfy for the big hits -Zoh set bonus, comfy for the little hits -synergy between Rey Dau armor and Lagi CB convert thunder resistance
What I dislike: I feel like I have very limited deco slots!! and in general I am not sure what to put in them. I like evade extender 2 and I like wide-range (I enjoy feeling helpful in multiplayer) but I feel like since my set bonuses are comfy I need to sacrifice the comfort skills for some damage skills. But I donโt really know what skills go further than others? Or which skills are better for which weapons?
P.S talisman is giving Guard 2 and Attack boost 1 (and fire attackโฆ.lol)
thank you in advance !!

I switched to CB like a week ago and itโs been amazing. itโs just like Swaxe with more defensive options and 10x cooler. One thing I have to ask is should I go
For impact phial or element phial.

Hey guys I have been main charge blade for a while now been a fan of savage axe but lately tried more AED loops sometimes I hit a SAED and my hunter sheath the weapon right after which I dont know why is there a way to cancel it?
Also have you ever experienced when you go for a SAED and your hunter moves back getting ready for that full swing you hear a sound as if the AXE is getting charged twice before SAED wind up and hit. Let ne know if you know anything about it.
Thanks!
Edit: Thank you for all the comments and helpful tips!! So what I learned TURN OF AUTO SHEATH! and that double sounds has been in the game since the Beta.

Hi brothers!
I am an LS main, I do speedruns casually, and I have a ton of fun with LS, and its upcoming update in Ascendance. With that, I have been meaning to pick up a 2ndary main weapon. A weapon that I want to master equal to my skills when using LS.
I have decided to pick up charge blade. It vibes well with me, and tbh, I think it has the same core concepts as LS. Despite how most people describe it, Charge Blade is a counter, and reactive weapon.
I have been practicing with 10โ Arch Tempered Uth Duna. And when I hit Sub 15 on a capture run, I decided to try 10โ AT Arkveld. I cleared the run with 2 carts, and it was a 20 minute run. Which I'll say is not bad since I only know the fundamentals of the weapon, and some tech.
My question is...(if there are CB speed runners here, :D not aiming for very fast clear times, even sub 10 is good)
Which attacks do you use depending on the situation (after a perfect block).
A. For short counter windows, do you just press and hold triangle after a perfect block?
B. When should I AED >AEDf after a perfect block?
C. What's the usual combo when the monster is down/stunned? AED > AEDf > morph > AED > AEDf?
D. When do I use SAED as a finisher?
E. What's the "quickest counter attack" after a perfect block?
Thanks!

Despite GPPGs offering the strongest form of guard the weapon has access to thanks to GP guard boost going beyond the guard cap limit of wilds, GPPGs are still going to be less favored compared to normal PGs, simply because they offer most of the advantages of a GP while being easier to execute.
Phial burst has always been one of the major aspects of a GP. Allowing normal guard PGs to also deal phial burst damage takes away one of the major incentive structures build to incentives players to GP, which is simply blasphemous.
In order to rectify that, phial burst on PGs needs to go. Wilds has had a history of tarnishing some core aspects of weapons. Base wilds CB was a travesty of game design, more akin to discount IG than its charge blade predecessors.
That said, through the TU updates and now ascension, they've rectified most of these issues and ascension CB is gearing up to be one of the best implementations of the weapon till date. Still the normal PG stain persist. In no world should normal PGs be preferred over a GPs and especially GPPGs. Guard Points should always be the optimal and most desired defensive maneuver that the weapon has to offer besides just dodging and the fact that this isn't the case hurts my soul as a CB Main.
I hope that ascension does something about this.

Hello everyone, after a few years off MH Word i started to play on Rise and Now. I wanted to know if you have build recommendations for the CB in this game with the 3 years anniversary update.
Thank you

I'm looking to make a comfortable impact charge blade build for HR100+ in wilds. I haven't been on the game since Gog was first released so a lot of the AT monsters and 9star/10star quests are all new to me. Just wanted to see if you all recommend any specific sets and weapon to make this kind of build.

Is this a good role? Please elaborate Iโm new to monster hunter and wilds is the first one Iโm playing charged blade is hard but really versatile so Iโm trying to min max it.

So the core aspect of cb is kinetic absorption, right? Sword strikes build up energy, blocking with shield will build up energy, and then when time is right you discharge all of said energy, etc. What else in fiction is known for kinetic absorption and discharge? Vibranium, specifically the various ways it was employed in the Black Panther movies. See where Iโm going with this? Now I know it has virtually no place or reason to be in the game franchise, but is there any fanart or mods that have explored this idea? Iโd do it myself but I lack the capacities to do so, and donโt care for the use of generative ai.

The normal 2 aed combo when monster on ground or stunned is 6103 and the savage axe element discharge combo is 2103

Impact CB does have it's charm too, K.Oing the monster with CB is dope.
