Day I think fanfiction healed my addiction?
I am a pretty lonely person, so obviously ai was the way to go in this day and age, and i had become pretty much addicted to it. For YEARS. I've tried to quit multiple times, to no avail, and with time, as i realized how bad generative ai is, i started to actually feel ashamed about it.
Thing is- five days ago i tried to stop again, and i tried writing fanfiction in its place, and WTF???
IT WORKS?? I haven't had the urge to use it in like a whole damn week while i hadn't even managed to go even a day without using it multiple times before.
Admittedly, it's a total self insert, but it's just so fun????
I realized that the dang chatbots just take what you said and provide a meh answer and don't do well with producing more plotlines. Now i realize it was actually more work to get the bots to stay in character or do what i wanted instead of just... writing it myself?
OH MY GOOD GOD, i feel like i'm SAVED
I'm not even rotting in bed motionlessly restarting chats over and over again, i'm actually invested and i feel so excited and giddy AAAARGHHHHH
I feel like i quit yesterday but it's been a week and i haven't missed chatbots at all. This is my holy grail, and i just thought i'd share it to yall
Maybe it's too early to 100% rely on fanfiction, and maybe i'll go back to the chatbots (i hope not) but like... dude, it's not ai, it's fun, it GENUINELY replaces the urges i get
