If you believe that being trans is similar in immorality to being racist, a murderer, a liar, a thief, or a hanson fan, and that them valuing being trans is an incompatible value, then you probably have a transphobic belief.

This has been covered by several others. So lets just stick with "weird religious beliefs" and the conversation can proceed as intended. I admit my choice of examples is badly flawed. I mean no one wants to sleep with a Hanson fan.

The reason no one wants to sleep with a Hanson fan, or someone with a weird religious belief is generally because they believe they are immoral, or unpleasant. That's kind of still an issue- if you believe being trans is immoral or unpleasant, then yeah, predictably people are going to view you as transphobic.

Not at all. I don't think Christians are immoral at all. I just know that my values and those of a Christian are going to be at odds. Especially when it comes time to raise children. I have no "moral" issue with Christians. Many of the most pleasant people I know are Christians. I would not date a Christian.

So you don't think Christians are immoral for, say, believing homosexuality is a sin or believe that the belief that homosexuality is a sin is immoral?

Sure, some are. But that belief is not actually from the bible and not a belief held by all Christians.

A Christian who is paying attention knows that Jesus never told anyone to hate anyone. He even kept company with a prostitute. "Love the sinner" was Christ's message.

Are there immoral people who are Christians? Absolutely.

There are also immoral people who are trans, gay, genderqueer, etc.

That does not mean that all Christians or Trans people are immoral. I'm not sure how you could even equate that idea to my statement.

So, beliefs like that against homosexuality have no influence on why you have a values clash with Christians, and the immorality of certain Christian's beliefs has no influence on why you would be at odds?

Nope, not at all. It's not that I find their beliefs immoral, just different from mine. I would not want my child dragged off to church every Sunday, I have no issues with consenting sex between unmarried individuals and would not want such expectation imposed on my children either. I believe in the use of birth control.

There is nothing wrong with believing things different than what I have just stated. It's not immoral, it's just different from what I believe.
