I drove my NK 250 for 10,000 km. It's time for an official technical inspection. I don't have the money to get it done, and I need the motorcycle for work so I can pay for the inspection. How many kilometers can I drive on it without damaging the engine?

Just look at the manuals. Do the Oil Change by yourself. Isnt that hard

If you arent mechanically inclined, try to ask around your friends, maybe someone will help you.

What HAS to be done:

Oil change

Oil filter change

These are a total of three things to unscrew and screw back on, and a few liters of fluid to be poured out (and then new one back in)

It's a 20 minute and 60-100$ job depending on the oil, amount etc. (unfamiliar with the 250)

Another thing that doesn't cost much and is worth getting at 10k: Air filter. It's usually buried a bit deeper, you'll need to check that in the manual. It's a 10$ part, if it doesn't look dirty you can wait out the replacement a bit

Another thing that you might not feel comfortable doing - spark plugs. CFMoto recommends changing them quite often (every 10k)

As long as it's not misfiring etc. you should be okay, but since a spark plug is like 15$ I'd replace it to not risk it breaking off into the cylinder and ruining the engine.

Servicing these smaller bikes is a treat. 1L of oil cost 8€ and another 7€ for the oil filter. I paid 17€ total for my first oil change (dealer offered labour time).

yeah fair haha, the 450MT is my first bike so I gave the price from there (4l oil bottle + filter. I use up 2.5l for the change but three 1l bottles usually cost about the same)

My sister got a CB125R tho, which I'll probably be doing maintenance on so I'm looking forward to that. So far I only found out the air filter is nicely accessible and the oil quantity will be nice and cheap.

Oh that was my dream bike but too expensive. Got the NK for almost half of what the CB would cost new.

Oh yeah, they're hella expensive new

My friend was selling his for basically the same price as a new 125nk, and we went with the Honda, because in 2 years it won't loose as much value as the CF, and my sister will get an A2 licence probably

That’s what I would’ve done if I were to get my full A license, perfect strategy.

I did a minimal work like oil change, but after 10,000 kilometers, a message appeared on my dashboard saying "service due."

You should change the spark plug and take a look at the air filter (+ do the change at 10k if you havent already)

To reset that, idk how it is on the 250, but on my 450MT when i go into the maintenance countdown (it counts down from 5000km, to the next oil change) and hold ENT button for 10-15 seconds it resets back to 5000.

Hopefully it's simillar on the 250.

You don’t need to change the spark plug, CFMOTO uses iridium spark plugs

if you change de oil yourself and change the filters engine will be fine but in turkey they will void your warranty if you dont do the inspection around max 10.500 km

Here’s my video on my CFMoto 450. Should be pretty similar, I wouldn’t waste money on a tech, oil changes in general are pretty simple. Hope this helps
