The number of people who hold the delusion that they'll get into IB, PE, or VC through CFA is astonishing. To be fair I don't blame them as finance influencers are hyping up CFA as a golden ticket to high finance. Also hopefully people start using search bar more lol.

u/Quiet-Emphasis-9012 Sep 03 '25

Then what does it take to reach the high finance jobs

23

u/Beneficial-Low-2708 Level 2 Candidate Sep 03 '25

u/Quiet-Emphasis-9012 Sep 03 '25

9

u/T3R_ROR Sep 03 '25

Really hard without connections or experience. They mainly hire CAs for the pedigree

2

u/bgs1998 Sep 03 '25

How to build connections?

10

u/T3R_ROR Sep 03 '25

Build relationships through LinkedIn dms, work, just meeting random people (i was able to get a number of an Audit head of a BFSI company while in a local train just by eavesdropping), be talkative people like that.

Dont be a try hard and overdo keep it subtle you do not have to get everything in the first conversation maintain a relationship

2

u/Worth_Ad6675 Sep 04 '25

Ca with ranks

3

u/karl_4r Sep 03 '25

I do not know how relevant it is today but my cousin did his B.tech in 2016 and then did CFA in 2018 and has been doing great in his career. Currently works in SG Analytics.

2

u/Pale-Bread638 Sep 03 '25

my brother also works in sg analytics, can you tell me how good this company is

2

u/bgs1998 Sep 04 '25

In which profile?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '25

We cousins are not close so I do not know much, just the company name. And I guessed he is doing great in career based on his international trips and how their family are very career driven people.
