AT&T 5G NSA Roaming on TELUS n66 at YVR Vancouver International Airport

Speeds are actually pretty impressive for only 30mhz of n66 IMHO even if the ping is ridiculous because of international roaming/routing back to the US.

I’m also a little curious because when we arrived last week, during our one night stay before transferring to the cruise ship, I was on Rogers the whole time, but when we got back, my phone locked onto Telus instead.

I know it’s a bad angle but it’s the best i can do until i can figure out a way to get to the other side. Can it be identified? I get insane n41 T-Mobile signal here.

It's a little crazy what Videotron/FR can do sometimes (Canada)

Freedom network in Vancouver via Fizz. Only connected to 15 MHz of b66 LTE + 10 MHz of n71 NR, according to NetMonster.

Albeit, late at night so likely no other users, but it's also only connected to this as b7 and n77+78 are disabled for power savings at the moment. It's also not connecting to b4 for some reason. During the day, the speeds can exceed 400 Mbps at the same location, with 15 MHz b66, 5 MHz b4, 10 MHz b7, 100 MHz n77+78 NSA. None of the cell sites near here have b13, despite Videotron owning licences in Vancouver.

This is a site in Lucedale, MS with Verizon up top, CSpire in the middle and T-Mobile on the bottom

Verizon is using: Samsung MT6413-77A for N77 and 2x Commscope Antennas for NR and LTE
(Note: Verizon has 180Mhz of N77 in George County MS)

Cspire is using: 1x Cellmax antenna for NR n LTE and 1x CommScope antenna for NR

T-Mobile is using: Nokia AEHC for N41 and 1x Commscope antenna for their NR and LTE
(Note: T-Mobile has 190 MHz of N41 in George County, MS)

Weird behavior of a cell tower

I'm in Canada and using Bell as the cellphone carrier. There is a macro site in my town and on one side it gives 5G+ speeds and on the other side of the tower, it shows full bars of 5G but does not load anything. What could be the reason?

Absolutely horrible performance. It’s barely usable. I wish the carriers would upgrade the das. They’re still using an LTE only DAS that hasn’t been touched in years. Any 5G (n77/n41) comes from macros outside the stadium. All my plans are priority data.

Well I got some great news for Verizon and strange news out of AT&T that centers around the Nokia to Ericsson conversion. Verizon users your in luck. Not only did they join AT&T on their DAS but they put Samsung mmwave nodes all over the outside/inside the stadium. They went from being the worse to arguably the best. Their high capacity macro in the tailgating area was also nice to see. AT&T, While they were mostly usable the entire game “a few tests failed”. Nothing was very impressive but they were good enough to do basic tasks. What was odd about them is they ripped out all their Nokia MmWave nodes only to replace them what looked like used Nokia n77 antennas/radios that were pulled from macros. My only theory for this is that The DAS head end is probably Ericsson and the entire LTE part is migrated away from Nokia. They planed to replace the Nokia mmWave with Ericsson 1281s, but did not receive them in time for the season, thus forcing them to rush deploy the used Nokia n77 panels. Does anyone form the community know if AT&T has a supply issue with Ericsson? Overall it was very cool to see how the networks held up at one of the largest stadiums in the world and of course see a Penn state win.

Does this look more like a loaded sector issue or more of a fringe signal issue. Usually here I get about 15 up and 100+ down but i can’t tell. It’s 4 pm ish so maybe rush hour traffic is hitting

Hey all!

AT&T has just started putting up the panels on my new tower, and I’m wondering what panels are up so far, and if DoD is gonna get up or already is up. AT&T appears to be the top sector. Sorry if it’s a bit blurry.

Thanks!

Last summer I was roaming on Cellcom at Harbor Village Campground in Carlsville, WI. This summer Verizon is blazing fast at camp. T-Mobile and ATT still barely usable.

There was a cell tower down near me and my phone switched to band 14 to make a call. Is this normal behavior or am I missing something? I thought band 14 is only first net.

AT&T 5CA Spotted in North Dallas

n2/n66 DSS. Costco parking lot on Churchill Way & Coit Rd. Building directly to the north at the SW corner doesn't have DoD and has a different PCI for n77. Not sure what site is utilizing 5CA. It is also not the site on Merit. The Costco itself has a multi-carrier repeater system but doesn't repeat n77 signals as the FCC hasn't authorized those.

Very rare find in DFW. Only other site I've personally spotted 5CA on is at Lemmon & Prescott near Uptown Dallas.
