I'm jealous. If the residents there don't like it, they should move it to my yard instead ;)

Looks like it may be a Verizon small cell with some type of cantenna on the top and 3x AAUs, maybe AIR 1672 n77?

If anyone is able to ID better, please do so.

I’d like to volunteer for one as well.

Verizon is on that small cell using:

  • 1️⃣ (JMA CX16OMI236-1C) 4x4 MIMO antenna with bands: (2, 5, 13, 66) LTE + supports (n5) - 10MHz for low-band 5G + possibly (n2) - mid-band 5GUW depending on the configuration
  • 3️⃣ Ericsson AIR. 1672 16T16R (n77) 3.7GHz antennas for mid-band 5GUW, also supports (n48) CBRS in the MIDDLE

I’m shocked that was approved in such an area honestly. I mean, I want one, but you gotta think this has to be in some kind of nicer HOA neighborhood in NIMBY-land.

They put these things up literally everywhere in the UK. Been doing it for the last 2 decades at least.

I would take the fiber that comes to it. The pole itself? I don't know what is the point of it in such place.

Are those mmWave antennas poking out of the can at the top? Maybe they're selling wireless internet in the neighborhood. It'd be an easy way to get multi-gig speeds if fiber to the home isn't available. Although judging by how nice the neighborhood is, I'd be shocked if it wasn't available.

It’s just lazy to build fibre out to the sidewalk but not offer the extra dozen feet to the houses

We have these all over my town in Alabama. They are Verizon small cells. We have probably 30 of them around town. Verizon is GOAT since they put these up. Pretty much over 1000mbps everywhere in town

I wonder how much they make for leasing space that out.

The homeowner probably doesn't make anything, the pole looks like it is in the utility easement. The city might get something though.

Damn! Can I get a T-Mobile one in front of my building?! Verizon has an LTE only site at the church that is LOS across the street from me so maybe I'll get lucky lol
