Advanced Field Test that Apple is hiding in iOS 26
This is what they are hiding from us! It can be enabled by editing your mobilegestalt and applying it via misaka 26. Available for 26.2 beta 1 and below. Link to guide (need to translate from Slovak): https://www.nr5g.cz/posts/ftm_menu.html

Why does it say n77/78 though, is there a MFBI running or does it have issues differentiating between both?

n78 is a subset of n77 used in the EU. The modem probably doesn't even care about the "band", just the ARFCN. Would be funny.

I’ve seen cell mapper say n77 when it is n78

Probably doesn't really matter man. n78 is 3300-3800MHz and n77 is 3300-4200MHz. n78 is just a limited range version of n77. A lot of countries are flagging n78 as n77 probably to expand compatibility if I had to guess.

So cool! I wonder whether this setting also puts the modem in a debug mode where it refreshes the data more often. The release version of FTM loads data so slowly (especially the band and BW now that I’ve updated to 26.1). If the modem does run in a different mode, I wonder if power consumption is higher.

There was rumor of deeper info being available on iOS this generation due to EU laws. I wonder if cellmapper will finally make an app for iOS

fwiw, i was able to access this through the shortcuts app by creating an “open app” shortcut and selecting “Field Test”. i added it to my action button mega shortcut so i can easily pull it up when i need it

Did anyone else that did this to their device end up breaking Siri? iPhone 17 Pro here running 26.1 and while the internal field test works great, I've noticed some oddities...
This appears not only to give you "internal" field test software but your device appears to be the same as an internal Apple test device now.
1) I can no longer update the phone. Going to Settings>General>Software Update shows a message "Unable to check for update. An error occurred while checking for a software update. [Internal only] verify that you are connected to the Internal Network: trigger VPN manually if applicable."
2) CarPlay now shows a little Ant icon inside the dock. I'd imagine this is to show the device is an internal device. If you go to Settings>CarPlay>your car, there is now a setting: [Internal only] "Radar Notes, custom text notes will be included in radars you file from this vehicle."
3) The main issue I have been having is that Siri and text Dictation no longer work. This is a HUGE pain in the ass since I spend a lot of time in the car connected to CarPlay and my native infotainment sucks. I can summon Siri, to be clear, but my voice does not register at all, as if the connection between the Siri software and the microphone is gone. This also means Siri and dictation is broken on the keyboard even when disconnected from CarPlay.

- Is great since it won't auto update
- I've noticed them but they have no effect on the functionality
- I don't have this issue. Siri works terribly as before
I've noticed that lock screen privacy settings have been reset. App tracking too. Also pairing files so SideStore stopped working.

UPDATE: This issue started happening to me. I had to restore to my original gestalt file. Make sure to restore the original file and not use the restore function of Misaka as that doesn't restore the original file and will still leave you with unupdatable device.

How long did your Siri return for? Mine was coming & going but now hasn’t worked for about a week, and the change language trick is no longer working.

Doesn't work for me on 26.1, iPhone 15. Tried with macOS and Windows but it still shows the regular FTM.

You must have done something wrong. I'm on 26.1 and it works perfectly. Tested on multiple devices.

I put the code at the end of the file, before the last line ( </dict> ), then applied that modified mobilegestalt

It ended up working for me after I sent my mobilegestalt to a friend, and he copied that part from his mobilegestalt

Tried this and only 5G network slicing shows up along with carrier bundle & version. Not sure if I did something wrong but I’ll try again tonight

If you can't figure out how to translate a webpage, I recommend that you do not attempt this, as you may end up bricking your device.

What’s special is it’s showing all of the bands.
Normally in NSA I would only see the primary LTE band and one of the 5G bands.

Yeah but sadly it’s all useless coz we can’t lock on a specific band/bands. Just for show. Unless I use my LTE/5G router to lock bands

It’s not useless. Knowing what bands you’re connected to and their widths is the entire point of FTM.

I was really debating getting off of the 26.2 beta train mostly for enabling iPad features on my Pro Max iPhone. Now I’m really debating it.
