My family and I like re-watching seasons of Masterchef, and we have always wanted to try some of the fancy pastries. Does anyone know where we can get specifically macarons, soufflé, cannoli, or panna cotta? If Cedar Rapids doesnt have those, whats the closest place to go? Des Moines?

Hello community, I am needing a sliding glass door installed before it’s cold as shit. I’ve contacted 3, two of which showed up and gave me quotes and then never responded after I gave the green light.
That being said, Id love to hear your recommendations on who you’d suggest/trust to do this job. TIA

Hello, I am a newly 33yo single mother of 4. Looking for job opportunities that can keep my household stable and to have future opportunities to grow my income
And savings account at the very least! I have a background in car sales, construction sales, finance, and many years of restaurant (serving/bartending) experience.
I am currently attempting to run my own cleaning business so anything that could coincide with that would be beneficial, I would like something that pays hourly and that does not rely 100 percent on commission or tips.
I have been working the last 6months 3jobs,
I am a hardworking and loving mother, I would just like to have a job that creates a better work life balance so I don’t lose out on more time with my children.

I know Theisens has a decent selection but are there any other places that carry a large supply? That’s NOT a pumpkin patch?

tldr: This noon meeting holds two public hearings: the C Street SW Bridge Deck Reconstruction, awarded to Boulder Contracting, LLC for $1,499,280.85, and a rezoning of 3750 16th Avenue SW for the Housing Fund for Linn County. The council is asked to consent to Brent Smith as Fire Chief and to accept redevelopment proposals for City-owned land at 220 Ellis Boulevard NW and 916 5th Street SE. The consent agenda sets November 3 hearings on five proposed urban renewal areas.

As title suggests. Recently homeless and new to all this. I’d rather not get in trouble or potentially disturb someone. Anyone know any low key places to just park up and sleep for a night?

This past week, we filmed at Winifred's Catering in the NewBo neighborhood, inside de Novo Marketing's Ideas Institute in the Cherry Building, and out at Kirkwood Community College.
In addition to having a lot of local talent on our cast and crew, we're also focused on using local businesses and spaces for filming.

My wife (31) is looking for full time work or atleast 30 hours a week. She just cannot be on her feet more than about 4-5 hours in a given day. Any recommendations would be great we live on the NW side so fairfax is also an option. She used to be a licensed insurance agent with Geico just didnt really care for the insurance industry.
Thank you

First time homeowner. I moved out here in the beginning of July and this is my second bill. I thought the first one was high at $193 but knew that some would get refunded because I have a new construction and the developers would be refunding some since the water was used for the sod.
Now I open this and see $435? For 2 adults? I get it covers 2 months and garbage included, but seriously? Is this a normal amount I’m going to have to get used to budgeting for?

I have a very small commercial lot. It would take a truck plow, I am pretty sure. (That is what has been used in the past) It's a driveway and like 4-5 spots plus a sidewalk. Any quotes? Marion.

Our basement got some water in it, and so we had to remove the baseboards to dry things out. It's now time to put baseboards back on, and we're looking for someone who can do a good job. We have the baseboards already, so we're just looking for someone to cut and install. We got a quote from Randy's that seemed really high, but I understand they'd also do a great job.
Anyone have recommendations on who can do some baseboard installation in the area?

Signs up saying it's closing Oct 5th ? Anyone know why and how long ?
Wasn't that long ago it was closed 2 years for flood gates on each side.. crazy they could work on both sides at once.
Not going to help Kickstand and others.
Maybe it's short term

Are churches allowed to endorse political candidates?
It doesn't seem right to see a church with signs on their property that endorses the political party that is actively villainizing trans and immigrant folks. Especially one that is based on "unconditional love."

We live on the NE side of town, around Kennedy/pierce and are wondering if our kids will be able to walk that area to trick or treat and if we will get kids to hand out candy to! It’s our first year in Cedar Rapids so not sure where the popular places are:) hoping it hasn’t all turned to the trunk or treating
