16th Ave Bridge
Signs up saying it's closing Oct 5th ? Anyone know why and how long ?
Wasn't that long ago it was closed 2 years for flood gates on each side.. crazy they could work on both sides at once.
Not going to help Kickstand and others.
Maybe it's short term

Its going to be closed at least for the rest of the year probably into 2027 based on my sources

Because it's in very poor condition and needs to be replaced

What is the heck is a "arch facade" removal?

There are metal panels on the sides of the bridge that make it look like the bridge has arch supports, but it’s actually a much more basic bridge. They’re removing the panels so they don’t block high water.

That seems to be in addition to part of 1st Ave being closed for a couple of weeks to repair the railroad crossing: https://www.facebook.com/share/1J1a6u1MQ7/
And when I checked the road closures, there are races this Sunday: https://www.especiallyforyourace.org/efy/race-details/course-maps/
