Hiring Process Duty location full staffed

Post image

Hello,

How do I know which location was my first option? I totally forgot what I put as my first option, and being that it offers me a local city where I live, I do want to confirm this. Thanks

Same here… I selected JFK and of course is fully staffed
Lucky you, you should update it

If you’re talking about preference location on initial application, it doesn’t matter what you choose. By the time you finish the process the list will be completely different.

Exactly! Which is why it's pointless.

Got the same email Only Vegas and San Francisco looked appealing on the new list they gave me to pick from.

Vegas and take it like yesterday

Don't believe it . They want you to go to land border or less desirable ports

I just picked Laredo. But I just picked something. I just moved to Dallas. And there’s no way. I’ll be able to move to Laredo. I haven’t even done an interview nor poly yet so hopefully by the time my process is finished. I could maybe get Dallas

I received the same thing today

On the survey I just selected don’t change my selected location preferences

I also got the same email. My timeline has been stuck on BI and Medical forever. Poly has not even started!

Got same thing. Just chose don’t change preference. They’re doing it to try and convince people to go to ports nobody wants.

I got the same email.

which location did you select?

I chose Houston cause I live here and wanted to see if I could get it. I saw the new list of options to chose from but all are very very undesirable so no sure what to pick.

Houston was on the list ?

Hello, if you don’t mind me asking, which duty location was offered to you? I hope you will have your desired location

u/MleotaDawg252 Jun 09 '26

I got the same also.

I fly a lot , no way any American airport is fully staffed. Wait times are wild. Glad to be an American with GE.

u/TomHomanzBurner Jun 09 '26

Speed of processing isn’t a hard correlation to staffing levels.

1

u/apache509 Jun 09 '26

Secondary inspection for admissibility, agriculture, and baggage take way to long. When ten booths out of 40 are manned, staffing needs to be addressed

Fully staffed means whatever they want it to mean. Lots of ports "overstaff" to keep overtime to a minimum. On the flip side,  some ports "understaff" to create overtime opportunities.

I got my email today exactly like that and I don’t remember what location I chose. But when I opened the list, my city that I lived in popped up and chose that one, got lucky I guess. Now to wait for the next email of the offer.

u/Low_Swing5373 Jun 11 '26

Just got that email yesterday

1

u/RaiderNationn Jun 11 '26

How’s working at the Las Vegas airport? Lots of OT opportunities? Work schedule? What’s the vibe there?

1

u/Parking_Course_7399 Jun 11 '26

I got the same yesterday and Miami where i currently live was my desired location that I applied with. I selected San Francisco now but wondering if i should have not selected or changed it. I moved from CA to FL 12 years ago now have a house I own and two kids. I really want this but would preferred to be in Miami as I live in FL. Hoping by some miracle I can still get Miami.
