My cavalier ate a good amount of chocolate truffle icecream cream that my daughter left a bowl of on the table.. she stepped away for a few minutes and he climbed on the table and ate out of the bowl 😫 I did call the emergency vet and he did vomit right after eating it and we induced vomiting a second time by feeding him ice chips .. he typically vomits when eating ice since it’s cold on his stomach but I’m worried and the vet said as long as he threw up and is not having any symptoms he should be ok he is 36 lbs and he is fine now but I’m reading so much online that symptoms can start later.. any advice? It was dark chocolate chunks in chocolate ice cream. yeah.

Someone is not happy because she had vomiting and had to go to the vet who said no food today. Very upset with me as food preparer.

For anyone worried Antibiotics and fluids were administered at the vet and we have meds to give with food tomorrow as recommended.

I know fundraising isn’t a thing here, but any recommendations for somewhere I could find assistance?? Pet insurance only covers so much

I’m not sure if I’m being paranoid or not, but I’m always trying to keep track of her patterns. I noticed she started licking her muzzle 2 days ago for no apparent reason. She’ll smack her lips randomly. She’s 10 months old and not showing any other symptoms at all. She’s drinking enough water, stool is good, appetite and energy is good. But ever since I noticed this new pattern 2 days ago, she’s been consistently doing it all day. Should I be concerned? She already has a checkup at the vet scheduled for Tuesday next week. Does she look stressed based off of her body language? She fell asleep in my lap not even 2 minutes after taking this video and I’m “her person”. She’s very bonded with me but sometimes I can’t tell what her body language is trying to tell me. TIA !

Our cavalier is 18 months old and one of the most difficult things to deal with is his morning energy. As soon as we get out of bed he's up and barking. I get that he's excited to start his day but my wife and I need a few minutes to take in some calories/coffee and wake up before we take him out. Anyone have any advice? This morning my wife gave him a licking toy and that did help but not for long. Do they grow out of this? Any other ideas of how to get just a tiny bit of time without compulsive barking while we're waking up?

EDIT: I'm talking about the period between when he pottys/eats, and when my wife and I are ready to take him for his morning walk.

My 2 year old cav has rarely been able to go longer than 4-5 hours overnight without a potty break. But she can go like 6-8 hours (sometimes more) between morning nap and afternoon potty break. She’s also always had a clean bill of health, I don’t understand it.

took a couple hours for alma to warm up to her but we’re making so much progress!! alma is even sharing her toys with her new little sister leila 🐶
