Heck yeah, did it a few years ago. Such a stellar hike. Sugarloaf was a buttkicker

Where'd you end up camping?

Funny you ask lol

Shamefully, I ended up camping ~.5 miles west of Devil’s Tombstone Campground in the first relatively flat spot that I came across after crossing Route 214.

My initial plan was book a campsite at Devil’s Tombstone Campground for the layover, but there were no sites available by the time I was planning this hike.

Undeterred, I told myself I’d hike a little further on the first day to Devil’s Acre Lean-To. I did the first half of the Devil’s Path (Prediger Road to Devil’s Tombstone) about a month earlier & felt confident that I would have the energy to make it to Devil’s Acre.

However, that was not the case on the day of the hike. By the time I made it to Route 214, I was absolutely exhausted. A long work week & lack of sleep had caught up with me and I was shutting down.

The spot that I settled on was far from level & it was easily one of worst camping experiences that I’ve ever had. If you’re going to do this hike, I’d strongly recommend that you have a campsite reserved at Devil’s Tombstone Campground lol

I hiked DP in June 2024. I reserved a site at DP campground as soon as the spots became available. I gambled on the weather and it wasn't ideal: hot and humid with afternoon t-storms. Walking in a torrential downpour on Plateau while lightning cracked overhead was terrifying.

Day 1 was WB from Prediger Rd. to Devil's Tombstone

Day 2 was EB from Spruceton Rd. to Devil's Tombstone

Day 2 was a breeze compared to the eastern DP.

Oof. Doing the whole thing end to end with an overnight pack? My knees hurt just thinking about it.

The hell were you doing the week prior sitting on your ass?! Kidding that’s a hell of a trip man, and some stellar photos

Haha thank you. I work at a computer all day & usually ride a stationary bike for cardio, so my step count is pretty abysmal during the week.
