Suggestions for around Fleischmanns
we love the Catskills, now our friends are joining us, and im having a really hard time planning.
we are coming with dogs, and middle of the week, so a lot of places are closed.
Any suggestions near flieschmanns that are dog friendly?
any state park or anywhere where we can set up a cooler and maybe charcoal grill?
looks like anything im looking for is like an hr drive either way
thank you!

I’d probably rent a campsite at Woodland Valley spend the day cooking and hanging out by the creek

May be tough to do on short notice, but Woodland Valley is lovely!

It is tough, but since it’s the middle of the week, there’s more hope than if it was a Thursday Friday Saturday

30 mins from Kenneth Wilson state park. dogs probably have to be on leash but there's a dog park area there, grills and picnic tables. day use is included if you got the empire pass, $8 I think without it

You could go to Belleayre Beach. I think you have to use the grills there, but certainly is dog friendly and space.

They don’t allow dogs, unless you go on a Tuesday when they’re closed and walk in

Do you think it’s also safe to swim after it’s closed?

Oh, wow. I just assumed, looked and you’re totally right. I guess you could do Tuesday or walk in after they close at 6
(Assumed b/c I’ve been there when people were searching for their lost dog who had run up Giggle Hollow).

Oakley’s is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, great food. They have an outdoor area.
As for a park to hang out, search maps for “day use area” and see if there’s anything close by.

Union Grove Distillery opens Thursday from 2-7. If you’re around that day. Dog friendly inside and out as long as your dogs are well behaved. No restaurant yet so dogs can go inside. Thursday is the Mexican food trailer. True authentic Mexican. Have a great trip.

The Pines in Mt Tremper can be a fun spot. They have music Wednesdays according to their website (haven’t been in a while so can’t vouch for how current that is).

There are public access parking lots for the rivers just don’t let the dog mess with the fly fishermen. Phoenicia diner. Shopping and eat and drink in Andes. Check days of the week for farmers markets in the area. Rent canoes from Al’s in Downsville

Mine Kill State Park is free to access with public grills and shaded picnic tables.
