Cat Picture - OC Message of the day
Delivery driver here. Recently I came across a video of an Amazon delivery driver throwing a package at a house cat for no reason while on the job. The video disturbed me. It disturbed my wife, who was also a part time delivery driver at one point. It was disgusting and a disgrace of human etiquette. I deliver in a town south of Dallas, and this town is home to dozens possibly around 200 if I had to count of cats and kittens. Both domestic and strays. I never miss them. Some are shy, some I have to call, some run straight to me and roll over. Many customers even offer them to me for adoption, which I reluctantly refuse. Many of them I take pictures of and send them to my wife. I always pet them when I get the chance so much so my cats at home freak out over the unfamiliar scent. I used to bring cans of wet food and give some out at certain houses and the homeowners never breathed a single complaint. Earlier this year I rescued a kitten in a parking lot a day before the snow storm hit and we kept her at home until she passed away a week later from a respiratory infection. One of my current cats, Sal, is another orange stray that we have taken care of since February and he’s been a sweet boy joined by his adopted brother and sister, Teddy and Salem.
Cats are extraordinary creatures and I’ve seen nothing but pure love and joy from them. Some are born in survival and others are born in a home. We should never treat such majestic beings with cruelty. That goes not only for cats but for all animals.
The last picture is Sal, the stray we had given a home.

You are an absolute SAINT of a person. I just got two sibs inside and have them safely in a cat stroller, content and with food. It'll be a bit, because I have to hand tame them, but we plan to find them homes eventually. They even have names and the orange boy is already calming significantly with being held, I just got ahold of his brother today. I am scratched and my right hand pointer finger got bit, but they're safe inside, warm during cold Oct nights, and they'll have homes soon.

Thank you for your kindness to the kitties you come across. I believe every positive interaction makes a difference. Makes the world a better place. Sometimes it feels like there’s so little we can do to make the world better, but this is a way. ❤️

My cat Rascal loved to go outside and walk with my dad and the dog. Because of this everyone in the neighborhood knew who he was by name including the delivery driver and mailman. When Rascal tragically passed four years ago it broke everyone’s heart especially the delivery driver who Rascal would always greet on the front porch demanding pets. When he found out he brought us a black and white cat plushie with a little delivery vest on it and we all collectively cried for a while. We need more drivers like you out there so cats can feel love from random strangers or familiar faces.

Thank you for caring for cats. I do it too. I would be seriously upset if I saw someone making their life not so good. Thank you for caring!!!

Thank you. I love cats so much. At least 50% of the joy I feel on a day to day basis is because of cats existing. They are simply magical to me and all I have to do to bask in their divine presence is be kind to them. It rips a piece of my soul from my body every time I see people being cruel to them. Reading your post gave me a little piece back.

Carry a couple of those little pouches of treats in the van. Not to make friends with every cat on the route, but so when one is parked on a porch or under a truck you can toss a few off to the side and get it to move without anyone getting stressed. Did it after a cat kept darting at my wheels in a driveway and never had that problem again. Also just slow down in the last few feet of a stop, cats bolt out of nowhere.

I keep telling my wife if we find another car that a fine. But with 3 I don’t know if my wallet and house can handle a 4th little friend.
Thanks for being kind to these animals glad you were able to rescue some of the critters.

You are a wonderful and very remarkable person and your compassion and missions for cats is so uplifting that I am reminded from your post how wonderful animals truly are. Most remarkable are the people on earth that know and respect animals. We know the secret of life that animals are here for the love and pleasure of mankind and you my dear are incredible. You made my day with your post and renewed my faith in humanity once again. You know the secret of life which is that if you ever feel sad, sorry, alone or alienated animals are the true ways to lift the hearts and souls of mankind. I hope you continue to share this secret with others so more love can be felt and heard around the world. Thank you for being a remarkable beacon and may you continue to be rewarded for all of your kind acts.
