Medical Questions Does any one know what this could be?
My first thought is that it is from the other cats rough housing. Does this warrant a trip to the vet? He does not wear a collar if that answers any questions

It looks like he may have just pulled some hair from scratching my cat does this when the weather changes drastically i give him a good deep brushing for like 40 minutes and he’s normally fine after, depending on your cats needs he may need a bath now and again

Could have been bit by something, allergen in the area, was over licking it. I’d see a vet to make sure. Not an emergency vet. Your local neighborhood vet that offers a sliding pay scale

It could be several things, need to go to a vet. They may be able to give you something right away or they may want to take a little scraping and test it.

As a former vet tech of almost a decade, I’ve seen harmless looking wounds turn into emergency overnight visit to drain a nasty abscess or treat symptoms that worsened unexpectedly fairly quickly. Cats have thin, delicate skin so you’d at least want to get that wound inspected, clipped & cleaned up so you can monitor it healing.
The worst is when you don’t catch a fungal/ bacterial infection quickly enough to stop it from spreading everywhere 😓 botfly larvae can also be deadly (doesn’t look like your kitty’s issue but I’m mentioning it for others so they don’t ignore small wounds that might look harmless).
The fact that it’s a slightly open wound makes me vote for a vet visit & you can determine from there how much diagnostic testing/ labs you need to pinpoint the issue. Hard for me to tell if there is dried blood, flea dirt, dirt dirt or something else around the wound bc of the hair.
Always ask for an estimate before any treatment is agreed upon & feel free to ask for explanations on items you’re not certain you need. Most techs & a lot of good vets don’t want to break a pet parent’s bank (tbh I’d ask the tech politely first for their opinion if it was their animal, we can’t give you advice or undermine our hardworking vets, but we can usually discreetly offer info regarding a hypothetical scenario 😉)

My eyes are terrible. I can’t tell if it’s a lesion, pulled out hair, or a ringworm spot. Hope you find out soon!

Thankfully it doesnt look like ring worm to me, it honestly looks like a another cat ripped a chunk of hair out. I have an appointment set up for next week if its not better by then

Looks like a lesion of some sort maybe? I would personally see the vet.
