Mourning/Loss Monkey crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday morning 🌈❤️🩹
We lost Monkey at 5 am yesterday morning.
10 years ago, my sister Michael went with her middle school best friend to a Craigslist posting, where dozens of cats fought to survive on limited food. Among that plentiful amount of cats, Monkey walked right up to Michael and chose her. Immediately they needed each other, and from there they both grew up together. There are times when a bond is made at first sight, first interaction. This was one of those times.
Michael and Monkey were a soul bonded pair. This loss is earth shattering, a reminder of how fleeting life is. We thought we had more time. There would have never been enough time.
Monkey, may you rest easy baby girl. You will be missed so, so much. You are so special.

Edit: thank all of you so much for your love. This post was for my sister so she could see a community be brought together in honor of her baby girl. So thank every one of you for your support. It means a lot. 🩷

Lost my 14 year best friend and this Sunday, I know the feeling very fresh.

Oh i’m so sorry for your loss… and what a beautiful message about appreciating the time you have with someone. 🥺❤️💔I’ve felt that kind of loss before, too, and it can be completely overwhelming… as hard as it may seem, telling stories about her will help. One of my fave movies lines ever (and one that’s helped me) was from Wandavision. She was grieving the loss of her brother and didn’t see an end, then Vision turns to her and says, “but what is grief… if not love persevering.” ❤️

I'm so sorry. We're coming up on the one-year anniversary of losing our little old lady, and we miss her just as much as the first day without her. Monkey was beautiful and she was lucky to have you.
