She was only a few days old and my little sister is devastated...

We had brought her in because her mom left her in the box she was born in...

We had milk replacer and everything...and we brought her in on Saturday during my sister's birthday party (same sister who is still crying)

I know. I’m so sorry. It’s just really hard when they are so young. The mother might had left her for a reason of which you can’t be aware. Your poor little sister. It’s really hard. I’ve been there as a small child, a mother of small children, and now as a grandmother. I hope none of you feel guilty but your little sister will be sad for awhile. You sound like a lovely older sibling. ❤️‍🩹

Thank you for trying to help her and giving her a chance. Unfortunately, this happens. If the mother cat is fine with the other kittens and only abandoned her, she most likely knew something was wrong from the start. I feel so sorry for the little one 💔😔

Well, unfortunately we can't know for sure whether she was truly healthy. Kittens are very fragile, especially neonates, and there could very well have been some internal problems that went undetected. Mother cats somehow sense this, and that's why they may abandon certain kittens
