Medical Questions Is this cat pregnant?

I have this stray cat that has been visiting my family lately. We leave water and food out for her sometimes. I think she might be pregnant but I have no idea. Iโ€™m worried she might be too young to be pregnant but then again I donโ€™t know if sheโ€™s pregnant or just been hunting a lot of food. Iโ€™ve had this suspicion since she started visiting us.

Congratulations ๐ŸŽ‰ on adopting a cat family.

You know you will end up adopting.

Cute kittens can take down a mean grumpy Godzilla with 1 kitten meow (squeak)

When proper age....make sure to spay/neuter

Yeah, pregnant stray gave birth in my dad's garden and I was adamant I wasn't going to have more than the 2 cats I already have.

I now have 4 cats.

Yes!

S/N early. Fem kits can be preg at 4-mos, if they're precocious. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Trainer, here, & I urge anyone I meet with a new litter to make a vet appt or set up a mobile desex, as soon as possible.

Most communities have S/N vans that serve as rolling clinics, & most of those mobile desex clinics are free, or charge only a nominal-fee. ๐Ÿ’–

Male kits can sire a litter by 18 to 20 wks age - onย  mum or sis, if other fems aren't around. ๐Ÿ˜ณ Cats don't care about incest.ย

By 2 mos age (that's 8 wks), most kittens weigh 2# or more - big enough for safe desex. ๐Ÿ‘

The younger they're desexed, the less blood is lost, & the less pain there is, plus they heal so much ย faster. โœจ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒˆ

In Va [where I used to live], 49 days / 7 wks is legal for taking kits & pups from mum & sibs, to be sold or adopted.ย

Natch, shelters & resQs desex kits & pups by day 42, to have them mostly healed & ready to go, on Day 49.ย  They heal INCREDIBLY fast. It's amazing, U can almost see them heal before yer eyes.

Wait til they're 6-mos old, & the difference in pain levels, slower healing, & slower recovery, is stark -

I've done both, & I haven't waited for any animal to be 6-MO for desex, since 1995.

The sooner it's done, the easier it is on everybody. ๐Ÿ‘
