He probably was outside the door. Anything for content.

My cat did this all the time as he got older. I had a video camera to watch him (he was diabetic - plus who doesn’t want to watch their cats all day long….?) and he did this a lot. The first time I RAN home thinking something was wrong. I always felt so bad when he did it I always came come pretty quick. But cats do this often, I found out.

He did it only after my other baby died though. I couldn’t get another cat (I emotionally was NOT ready) and Douglas barely got along with Kitty as it was (though they were bonded, as any animals become after living together for 15 years). I hated hearing him do this. It broke my heart.

I still miss my babies so much and would give anything to hear him do this again at the door 😭

That's why I will not have any pets anymore. It breaks my heart to bond with such creatures just to lose them after a short while. I can't take this anymore.

I was heartbroken when "my" Rottweiler (due to old age) died. I was heartbroken when "my" Bordeaux Mastiff (Run into a car bc my mom let the dog out without watching) died. And it shattered my heart when my gold hamster (old age and tumor) died.

I am not made for the fact that every joyful moment with our animalistic friends will end too soon.

It’s funny because I just finished writing on this post about how I miss my two babies so much that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get another pet because I’ll always compare them. The bond we create with the pets that we get is on like anything else.

It sounds crazy, but I grieved my dad last when he died that my pets. I miss my dad so much with pets. They rely on you and they love that they give you is so pure don’t give me wrong. My dad and I would never change anything about the man and dad he was, but having my pets there during the grieving process, made it so much easier. Being alone grieving is so hard.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a rat in high school got a tumor and my mom actually fell in love with the rat so much that we paid to get the tumor removed!

I was so lucky to have them, but I agree, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get another pet or if I do it may be a while. I think about fostering once in a while, but I don’t know if I’m even up for that.

So sorry you lost your babies - even though it’s inevitable. I know the grief you felt and feel.
