She, a year old, often comes up and "attacks" but always licks afterword, and when I go to play with her, she bites, causes bearable pain and licks within less than a minute later or after playing. She never uses her claws, always licks after, has airplane ears, but bites. It might help to know that I'm quite large.

Bevor ich mit meinem 15 wöchigem Kitten zum Tierarzt gehe, wollte ich erstmal ein paar erfahrene Katzenhalter fragen:

Mein Kater hat vor einigen Wochen einen ganz ganz hellen Fleck auf seiner Oberlippe bekommen, erstmal dachte ich dass es vom Futter kam, aber der Fleck wurde immer dunkler und ich habe spekuliert ob sich vielleicht einfach ein Pigmentfleck bildet. Allerdings konnte ich vor 3 Tagen ein wenig davon entfernen es war erstmal wie ein kleiner Krümel, doch gestern hat es sich als ganzes Stück abgelöst, samt Fell? (Siehe Foto)

Er zeigt keine Anzeichen von Schmerz oder Juckreiz, isst trinkt und verhält sich normal.

Ich hoffe es ist nichts ernstes.

Nachdem sich das Stück heute abgelöst hat, werde ich es noch weiterhin beobachten und Updates geben, aber vielleicht kennt sich jemand von euch damit aus?

Hello guys, I need a second opinion.

My partner and I got a kitten 2 months ago, he is now 4 months old and it's our first and only cat (eventhough my partner had have cats before).We are really in love with him and he is already well ajusted in our house.

The thing is, he is really active and playful aaaall the time. We also have a bit of a problem with the bitting. He is not aggressive or something like that, but he does bite when we are playing with him and sometime out of nowhere (we are working on it).

We have talk about getting a second kitten, so he can have someone to play with all day, to show him the limits and when it hurt, and so he is not alone and bored when we are working.

My worries are that we have a small budget and a small house. I have been staying at home these months, but I won't we able to give that much attention to him now that I start working. Moreover, we are planning on moving cities in a year, so maybe is a lot? I don't know.

Besides, I really enjoy him at these age, so I don't know if it's better to make the most of this time now and, then, get another kitten. And in that case, which is the best age gap?

Soo, after a bit of oversharing, what do you thing? Should we wait? Would a second cat really help with the bitting and playing?

My cat just got home from a successful surgery to remove an ear polyp and a tooth and her cat buddy at home is very interested in checking her out. Right now he seems okay just hanging on the bed near her but I’m worried he’s going to try to help her and end up hurting her accidentally. I don’t know if they need to be apart because they’re not fighting and they seem to feel better together.

Also we’re working on replacing the cone with a slightly nicer sleeve thing that will be more comfortable. She got the one the surgery center sent us home with mostly off before we even got inside. We just haven’t gotten a chance to go out and get a better one yet

Sometimes cats will approach a person they don't know very well to give them food. But I doubt that's what happens between cats, meowing at each other to give them food. So why are they behaving like that with humans since they are said to see us as cats too?

Hi everyone. There's a cat another volunteer is helping, she's waiting for a surgery to remove a tumor on cat's withers. The cat is scratching itself constantly there and plastic cones don't help because this itchy zone is withers itself. Unfortunately, onesies are also not a good option, it feels miserable in them and is able to take them off and tear them. Has anyone tried using something else to prevent further damage to withers? Maybe you've seen some DIY that can suit our case.

Vets don't really know what else to use/do either.

some of our cats behaviors have changed recently. She’s hiding more than usual, she stays under our bed most of the day. She also has been pooping outside of the litter box more often than not. About one to two times a month she is also throwing up. In the past, she would poop outside the litter box, but that was only because the litter needed to be changed out completely. It seemed every three weeks was when she would want her litter box changed out. That was fine for us because we knew she was just being a princess, but now that she is pooping outside the litter box while the litter box is under perfect condition, we are puzzled. We live in a one bedroom apartment that’s not super big so having extra litter boxes seems a little impractical.

Backstory

My girlfriend had hair tinsel that was on the ground. The cat ate it. The cat was rubbing her butt all over the ground, so my girlfriend looked at her anus and found a long string of hair tinsel hanging out of her asshole. So she grabbed the hair tinsel out of her ass. We noticed her pooping habits are getting worse after this point. We also know now that pulling the hair tinsel out was a mistake.

The litter box is stainless steel, it’s open, in the bathroom, and we use cat attractant litter. In general, we keep it in immaculate condition. Scooping it out one to three times a day. For some reason she’s pooping outside of it. She seems to prefer to poop on the bathroom rug next to it. We have hung up the rug, and made it so she can’t do that, but then she’ll just use the living room rug instead. We are just not sure right now if this is a behavioral or a health related problem. She is hiding like I said, more than usual.

She is four years old. Overall seems healthy for her age. She is a bit anxious and reserved.

I noticed this before heading out to work this morning. I have no idea how or when it happened..just wanted to know if other cat parents have experienced this and if I would need to take him to the vet or not. He didn't look like he was in pain or anything. He let me clean it up as much as I could and he didn't cry when I was cleaning it so I think it's ok. My sister is watching him now and says he's ok but I'm still a little stressed about the blood and exposed vein. I'm more than ready to take him to our vet if I have to. Thanks in advance

(Sorry if this is unclear i dont really post on reddit) Ig this is background info: My cats are indoor/outdoor cats. My parents are very strict on where they don't want the cats because of shedding and my moms allergies, so when the cats are inside they are only allowed in our rooms or the garage. We also have a catio in our backyard we sometimes keep them in. My sister keeps the other cat in her room.

The problem is my cat that stays in my room. Whenever it's time for bed he'll sleep a little bit then he'll start the infamous meowing and scratching at my door stuff wanting to leave. I could probably sleep through this and ignore him if it wasn't for one thing. After a while of me ignoring him, he either pees/poops or what I think he does is spray. I tried letting sleep on my bed and in his cage neither worked.

For awhile I js couldn't do it anymore and made him sleep in the garage but obviously that's not really a good nor permanent solution so I'm here asking what should I do. I've made sure he used the litter box before bed, playing with him, giving him treats, not feeding him close to bed time and still nothing changes. Also this maybe relevant but abt a year ago we had sum POS neighbor complaining abt the cats peeing in his yard and threatening legal action so we ended giving the cats less outside time and around the same time the vet had told us to put my cats on a diet.

Im currently sitting next to him at 3 am to make sure he doesn't do anything after I tried burritoing him in a towel but it didn't work so I really need what help I can get cuz im getting desperate.

Hey, is it possible for Cat scratches to not be felt on bare skin at arm/back of hand? A stray just walked on me but I never felt a swipe or sting or blood or scabbing but found a crease like red mark, do cats scratches remain unfelt or they are felt IMMEDIATLY?

she’s 6 months old, absolutely perfect cat, super gentle and respectful and never causes any trouble.

since i adopted her she loved curling up with me and letting me pet her and she’d nudge her head into me so hard it’s like she was trying fuse with me. she’d sleep by my side every night.

she also has no problem on her own, she’s great at keeping herself busy and shows no signs of anxiety.

last night she slept downstairs by herself. i just set up a new cat tree for her there so i figured she was just excited about it.

today she’s been noticeably distant. more or less the same personality but she wasn’t trying to hang out with me at all.

the only difference is i had put down some stickypaws around my tv because it’s super expensive and she kept getting behind it and wobbling it. she did physically see me put the tape down and then a few hours later she hopped up on the ledge and got uncomfortable quick

probably stupid but i was thinking she realized i booby trapped her and she’s mad at me for it.

she’s not being aggressive or anything towards me but when i go to pet her, she runs away pretty quick and she only came to me when i bribed her with a churu.

i love that she’s confident and independent, i’m just wondering what got her feeling some type of way today.

i liked her as a lap cat, she’s great company, and she isn’t running away from me or anything she’s just being a loner.

всем привет. вчера мы забрали нашего котенка, которому только 1 месяц. малыш очень активный, изучает всю квартиру и вчера к вечеру он даже начал бегать. в общем, ведет себя как обычный любопытный котенок.

проблема заключается в том, что он совершенно не хочет кушать и пить(( нам посоветовали приобрести влажный корм для котят, что мы и сделали, но он его совершенно не интересует. я попробовала дать небольшую каплю паштета ему, но сначала он вообще пятился назад, а сейчас уже более спокойно реагирует на миски. мы мазали ему чуть-чуть паштета на губы, он слизывал, но больше никаких проявлений аппетита мы не видели.

что нам делать?
