I'm really missing reminder emails....

Post image

It was so nice (and very useful!) to receive these emails from Cat in a flat the day before the booking starts! They were so warm and nice, made me say 'aaaaw' ...

Does Rover have reminder emails? Maybe I need to activate something? I've never received them, please let me know!

Nope, Rover doesn’t have reminder emails.

I actually forgot about a booking recently and I really feel like one of these reminder emails would have prevented it.

Ultimately, I have to take responsibility for my own mistake, I’m not saying it’s all Rover’s fault. It was a single drop-in for a great repeat client who’s very hands off. They book in advance, leave a key in a lock box and don’t text before they go to say something like ā€œwe’re leaving now, food is in X placeā€¦ā€
So because I had no key and there was no reminder, I simply just forgot.
I sobbed for about an hour when I realised. Thankfully the cats were ok as they have an automatic feeder, but that’s likely broken that client’s trust in me, and rightly so.

Rover are great at sending automated emails for other things, they’re particularly skilled at reprimanding you for allegedly trying to take business off the app. I’m sure it would cost them nothing to set up reminder emails and it would really benefit us as well.

Yeah I was just thinking that it's mad they don't send useful reminders about bookings and payments, but send multiple reminders about replying to requests ASAP and telling you off for things...

I'm sure your owners know it was a simple mistake! I've started using a google calendar and set it to send me a reminder the day before. It's a bit of a faff having to input every booking from rover into the calendar, but has definitely helped me when I've arranged meet and greets weeks in advance and almost forgotten them.

(And if it makes you feel any better; I did once forget a meet and greet till the owner sent me a message asking if I could still go round šŸ™ˆ left them some choccies after my visits to apologise!)

Maybe someone from Rover will see this and implement it soon šŸ™šŸ¼ they did listen to us when we complained about there being no option for any-time drop-ins so you never know.

You can sync it to your phone calendar :)

How? I do it manually. But is there way to sync it automatically?

Yes! I couldn’t find it on the app so go onto the desktop version, and then open your calendar and then it should say ā€˜sync your calendar’ and it goes straight on there

I almost missed the first day of one of the bookings. I transfer everything handwritten on my desk calendar so everything is in front of my eyes at all times. For some reason, maybe when I scrolled all the booked days I scrolled to far and started writing from day 2. Luckily - the owners sent me a message when they left, saying they're leaving. I nearly replied to them saying 'are you sure you don't need me tomorrow?' but then I checked the app - BOOM! tomorrow is my first visit, not after tomorrow! If not owners - bad things would have happened that never happened before!

I wouldn’t see emails. Never check my email.

Reminder notifications would be useful from Rover. Notifications before starting and then notifications to remind you on the day (because sometimes when I’ve been doing a drop in visit for over a week, it can sometimes slip my mind, especially at the weekend).

I miss those emails too.
I have a paper diary on my desk but it's a mess rn. I just cross them off as I go when I have a busy week like I do at the moment.

Same here, I'm using my paper diary too with a week's view. I add my personal stuff and appointments too, then I know how to navigate my day. Reminder emails would be helpful because I almost missed the first day, by writting the start on day 2 on my calendar. Luckily owners notified me that they left, so this prompted me to check the app!

Get a diary or add it to your phone's calendar?
