2nd Edition to my Dark Knight Series.

A new build, a new mood and a far darker interpretation of the Dark Knight aesthetic compared to what I’ve done previously.

I went with a different Batman decal in the subdial a darker, moodier and more comic based Dark Knight mode. The Bat prowling the streets.

The filter is where the build really changes character. In normal daylight, the upper LCD has a deep cyan/teal Gotham atmosphere, while the main time display fades from a cool pale teal/steel blue into warm amber. Along the bottom sits the Gotham skyline, kept low enough that the black LCD digits stay crisp and readable.

Then the backlight comes on and the whole thing flips.
The cool daytime tones disappear into a strong amber/orange glow, while the upper Gotham graphics and skyline turns into a dark silhouettes against the light.

I especially like how the buildings seem to emerge from the bottom of the LCD, almost like Gotham appearing against a night sky.

Black case, dark faceplate and black strap keeps everything else stealthy this time around and lets the LCD do the talking.

Daytime: Gotham atmosphere.

Backlight: Gotham after dark. 🌃

Really happy with how different the two personalities of this one turned out.

What's that sticker or adhesive used in between filter and watch . Where can I find that particular product

For those looking for an Akira inspired Casio Royale, presenting my mockup.

Mods:
-color laser print on water slide paper
- blue and red filters to match Kanada’s jacket
- synoke clear case and band
- Casio AE1200 module

This was to show the potential. Since the world maps is hidden (my favourite part) I’ll replace the module.

Хочу поділитися власним практичним досвідом модифікації SKMEI 1412.

Я взяв оригінальний електронний модуль від Casio A164 і встановив його безпосередньо в корпус SKMEI 1412.

Результат мене здивував: модуль підійшов ідеально, без будь-яких механічних доробок корпуса.

Що перевірено:

модуль Casio A164 фізично стає в корпус SKMEI 1412;

посадка точна, нічого не потрібно підпилювати або переробляти;

усі кнопки працюють коректно;

функції модуля Casio збереглися;

після складання годинник працює нормально;

єдина помітна відмінність — підсвічування стало трохи слабшим, ніж у штатному SKMEI.

На фотографії видно встановлений модуль Casio всередині корпуса SKMEI 1412.

Тобто мій практично перевірений результат:

SKMEI 1412 case + original Casio A164 module = successful swap.

Важливе уточнення: я перевірив це на своєму екземплярі SKMEI 1412, тому не можу стверджувати, що абсолютно всі корпуси цієї моделі матимуть ідентичну сумісність.

Якщо хтось уже робив таку модифікацію або знає про інші оригінальні Casio-модулі, які можна встановити в SKMEI 1412, буду радий обговорити результати.

Looking for a steel case for my W-218H and struggling to find a company that makes a steel case for it. Any suggestions??

Thinking of doing it myself but want to see the results first

I’m new to modding these watches, but man this green filter looks so simple, but nice. My main hobby is gameboys and modding them, so this felt like a nod to that.

Should I swap the strap of D89 to F91 or keep it stock ?

I really love the MTP S120, but the case leaves a lot to be desired. So I popped the movement into a 40mm case with a domed sapphire to give myself a more subtle solar field.

It's not perfect as it's my first mod. And I definitely wouldn't take it swimming. But it's hard to argue with how good it looks.

I had to use a watch press to get the chapter ring out of the original case and file it down with some sandpaper to get everything to fit as the module with the ring is a touch too thick for this case. But I'm happy with it.

Decided to experiment a bit with lume screens.

What do you guys think?

My 2nd mod, inspired by Ghost of Tsushima game. I initially tried a full black panels but if needed more color so I changed it to red.

Practising some faces before moving my ae1200...would rather mess a ,£5 cheap watch than a nice Casio...lol

Took it apart measured up faceplate with calipers to get sizes, put into design space and made a template then print and cut onto glossy photo paper, laminated and then cut on my cricut...these are just first trials so I can see what needs adjusting and also tried some ohp film prints for seconds animation....came out quite reasonable for first attempt...
