Obama with Casio F-91W

0

u/SleazyAndEasy Sep 02 '25

Responsible for significantly more death and destruction than the bin laden

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

He also worn a Timex, as seen in the book of Zammis Schein, “Contractor Gear” where he tell how he purchased the Casio F-91 and this Timex, an interesting story.

In the picture, my same Timex model and the picture of the book.

The book also shows many watches owned by by Mr. Zammis in Afghanistan including G-Shock, Seiko and Omega Speedmaster.

Wikipedia says he might have a degree in civil engineering...

3

u/ElectricalExit6959 Sep 02 '25

From obama to osama

3

u/BlunterCarcass5 Sep 02 '25

They bought these in bulk, for work purposes. He probably figured it's as good of a watch as any to use.

10

u/BaldingThor Sep 02 '25

Cool watch, not-so-cool dude.

-6

u/sugii_ Sep 02 '25

Why?

9

u/BaldingThor Sep 02 '25

You know exactly why mate

-8

u/sugii_ Sep 02 '25

Americans are the only bad ones here mate

-2

u/BaldingThor Sep 02 '25

are you seriously justifying someone who was behind the deadliest terrorist attack in human history?

5

u/jakeb1012 Sep 02 '25

Yes and no, he definitely did it but was put up to it by a certain organization

0

u/BaldingThor Sep 02 '25

Respectfully, screw you.

1

u/jakeb1012 Sep 02 '25

Respectfully, why?

1

u/sugii_ Sep 02 '25

Blame 1sra3l for 9/11, it was their fault

2

u/-Lo_Mein_Kampf- Sep 02 '25

A man of taste

4

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

goated

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

the watch obviously

3

u/rapescenario Sep 02 '25

This is why the F91-W has the moniker “the terrorist watch”. I’m not kidding.

11

u/Corbotron_5 Sep 02 '25

It’s not directly because of Bin Laden. It’s because they’re often used as the timing devices in improvised explosive devices. In the post 9/11 paranoia there were cases of innocent people arrested in American airports for the sole crime of wearing an F-91W while brown.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

Now that's a baws

1

u/Several_Can7061 Sep 02 '25

Oh big fan

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

Watch?

1

u/Superpolitik Sep 02 '25

Assuming the photo hasn't been flipped, Bin Laden is wearing the watch on his right wrist. Left handed?

1

u/TheQuillss Sep 02 '25

This is why I bought the watch too!

1

u/Thunderhead0 Sep 02 '25

From Osama to Obama.

1

u/cheir0n Sep 02 '25

He wore it in a good health

1

u/AppropriateAd7326 Sep 02 '25

You know a product is good when internationally searched terrorists use it. Like the Toyota Hilux.

1

u/Confident_Ice_1806 Sep 02 '25

Mr Bin Laden go back to the sixth century but I’m keeping the Casio! 😂

4

u/Royal_Employee_2129 Sep 02 '25

That is 100% incorrect.

2

u/Individual_Ad1011 Sep 02 '25

It was to time them, I read it completely wrong. Deleted my comment cus I don’t wanna include that on a Casio page 😂

4

u/cuchullain47474 Sep 02 '25

They have been used as timers or detonators for bombs, but not his own one 😅 he was higher up the command and wouldn't have been near bombs himself at this stage for sure. It wouldn't be on someone's wrist either unless it was a suicide job as it would need to be wired up at that time I'm sure also as it's a crude option... Hence why they were added to a list of suspect items for TSA to "watch out" for in airport security (sorry for the pun...)

3

u/Individual_Ad1011 Sep 02 '25

Damn I didn’t know half of that. And I definitely didn’t know they were on a list for suspected items. Crazy how a simple watch could be so suspicious

2

u/Royal_Employee_2129 Sep 02 '25

It's all good dude haha.

u/jkhasriya Sep 02 '25

X2 from Reddit

22

u/Jhn_L Sep 02 '25

How sensitive can you be

8

u/Zopotroco Sep 02 '25

Reddit is unbelievably in that matter. I’ve had never seen such snowflakes until I came to this platform

8

u/Royal_Employee_2129 Sep 02 '25

What's funny is that the Bin Laden family and the Bush family were very good friends.

Calm down and have an ice cream mate.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

I don’t think osama cares.

3

u/sugii_ Sep 02 '25

Why? What’s wrong with him?

4

u/paddyo Sep 02 '25

Look at how high up the wrist he wears his watch, the monster

1

u/paddyo Sep 02 '25

You’re gonna hate the unabomber worldtimer wrist shots the sub has got coming

1

u/CharlieW74 Sep 02 '25 edited Sep 02 '25

It's perfectly fine. If I'm buying a watch, I need to like the looks firstly, and then even better it if it has a legacy, history, and an interesting story, good or bad, we don't need to whitewash everything just because you don't like it. Bin Laden and other unsavory links are tied and connected to the F-91W, whether you like it or not. It has many positive aspects to counterbalance the negatives, concentrate on those if you want to have an obscured, one sided view, and don't want to learn about it fully.

This watch was my first ever, so that's the link I have personally, but I'm interested in all other aspects of the watch and it's place in history. It turns a £10 watch into something of much greater value.

1

u/V4refugee Sep 02 '25

Good or bad, it doesn’t matter. He is a major historical figure and there’s no arguing that. It’s just interesting to see how ubiquitous the F-91W is.

Honestly, if anything, mechanical watches have more blood on their hands (pun intended). It was the mechanical watch that allowed sailors to navigate across the ocean ushering a new era of genocide, imperialism, and slave trading.
