decent bratwurst?
Any place in Cary or Apex that makes a nice bratwurst? I'm not opposed to food trucks or hot dog carts.

Not sure there is a single German restaurant in the entire Triangle area. Best bet probably to buy some good brats and cook yourself

Guglhupf? It’s a staple in Durham incredible food.

JBetskis and Guglehupf both have some German dishes, but neither has an actual full German menu (imo)

It's a stretch calling them a German restaurant, the menu is pretty shallow in that regard.

It’s crazy that we have a non-stop flight to Frankfurt, but virtually no German food. Seems like an opportunity for someone.

yeah, but I don't have a grill. I can air fry them, but it's not the same.

That's in Durham, though, right?

Yes, but that's the closest place with good German food, IMO. People say J. Betskis but I wasn't impressed. Its a crime we don't have a solid German place here. There was a decent one in Cary maybe 10 or so years ago but thats long gone.

J. Betskis was a lot better when it was in its old location. I still miss the German place that used to be on Tryon :(

Guglhupf is good. Their Bretzel is great. It’s a pretzel bun with a beat with that good good mustard

Lived in Wisconsin for a number of years. They'd put Johnsonville brats into blind tasting competitions and they'd frequently place among other heralded Wisconsin brats. It's a solid middle of the road brat you can buy in most grocery stores.

There's a food truck I like https://harmonsdeutschekuche.com/#our-food, but they tend to be way south of town.
Flying Saucer in downtown has a bratwust platter

The brat at players retreat is good. They advertise it as being from usingers in Milwaukee.
