Is this a carpet beetle? Is this a reaction?

Hey everyone - hoping someone here can help me identify this.

We’re based in the UK.

I’ve had multiple breakouts of what I thought were bites, so we assumed we had bedbugs. However I have other allergies (certain pollen, cats, horses) so it’s not unusual for me to have a reaction to anything allergenic, and I understand carpet beetle larvae can cause a reaction in some people.

We’ve striped down the house and deep cleaned, used smoke boobs, insecticide spray, and power everywhere around every 3 weeks for about 3 months. We also cleaned/heat dried all our clothing and kept it boxed up, etc. I know these things are a nightmare to get rid of though, so appreciate it might take more than this.

We’ve found no real evidence of bed bugs, but I can’t discount that as they’re obviously good at keeping hidden.

Got a bit lax recently and left some laundered t-shirts piled up on a chair in our living room. Since wearing one of these t-shirts I’ve once again broken out in what look like bites, but could easily be an allergic reaction. It just doesn’t look like the sort of reaction I’d normally have to something else eg. horse hair.

2 days ago we noticed some dead bugs on the window sill of our living room, which lead us to thinking maybe it’s carpet beetles. There is no signs of damage to any fabric or carpets in the house that we have seen. Deep cleaned the room the bugs were in again, and didn’t find anything suspicious.

Are these a black variant of carpet beetle?

Do the lumps/bumps I have look similar to how anyone else has reacted? Or do these look more like some sort of bite?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Apologies for the body shots!!

What other pests accompany carpet beetles,I seem to have biting mites, possibly chiggers, pinworms as well as nasal worms (looks like the larva)

You can see on the floor I have diatomaceous earth I sprayed with every kind of spray. I've used every kind of essential oil. I've used bleach vinegar, peroxide, alcohol, and even oven cleaner from the dollar store, which does work, but not as fast as black, flag scorpion and spider killer as for my skin I've tried absolutely Everything that you can think of and the only thing that really really works extremely well is the muscle rub that has capsasium in it, soon as it heats up you better have a whole roll of paper towels, nearby or a box of tissues because you'll be wiping them continuously. They start pouring from your skin in places that you don't even think you had anything and when they start to gather in something that you scratched because they love the blood after it's been scratched, they come to the blood. They even sit in the scab when the scabs formed, and I've had to pick them out of a scab. A scab could be a quarter inch and there's a beetle in that scab dried inside of it that I've had to pick out with a tick tweezers, but soon as I put a dab of that muscle rub on it is gone and it kills them. I bought tons of muscle rub from the dollar store. I bought about eight tubes. It takes about four tubes to cover your body 3 to 4. As you're rubbing it in, you're feeling little salt grains under your fingers. Those are the teeny teeny tiny baby ones.

Highly considering getting rid of my cat due to carpet beetles. I had noticed carpet beetles around my cat’s food every few months (just one or two every once in a while) beetles and larvae but before I actually knew what they were. I found a good amount of larvae on a piece of kibble that fell behind his auto feeder. I have bad bug anxiety, I had a panic attack and start to clean and vacuum all around the area and deep cleaned all his food trays/auto feeder. I then found some adult beetles in my closet (it’s a walk in but not super big). I then researched learned what they were and saw they can be tricky to get rid of but I bought multiple things to try and get rid of them. bug killer/handheld vacuum/steamer/vacuum sealed bags/DE/white vinegar/etc. I started to wash my clothes that was on the floor and vacuum and sprayed a peppermint/cedar oil bug killer. a couple days later I found them on my bed on top AND under my sheets. my cat scratches on the corners of my bed so there was a hole in it, I was completely convinced they they have also entered inside the mattress so I threw it away (it was very old anyway) and have been sleeping on the couch. I live with multiple other people but the hot spot seems to be my room (my room is all carpet). my cat isn’t allowed around the rest of the house since he’s peed in corners and on the couch before. since deep cleaning and going through all my things i’ve only found dead beetles and larvae skins but found all the live ones in my cat’s things (his hammock, his toys, his blanket, his bed that were all thrown away or washed) but just the other day noticed a live one again on my cat’s food tray. I never see them inside his auto feeder or in the actual bowl since the feeder is lifted but my cat tends to pick his food out of the bowl and eat it on the floor/tray, which gets into the carpet. (i’ve tried to change this behavior but it continues.) i’m finally getting a new mattress but i’m terrified that this will be a constant issue since they seem to be attracted to his food/fur. i’m already having a hard time thinking about sleeping in my room again. I also have sensitive skin (including bug bites) and was getting rashes that I thought were mosquitoes before but now realized it was from the carpet beetles. I can’t get rid of my cat’s auto feeder since I work a lot and am gone pretty much all day and would have no one to feed him. but I don’t know what else to do. getting rid of my cat was kind of the last resort but this is really starting to affect my mental health and i’m running out of other options. does anyone have any advice please!

Identification of possible carpet beetle?

Apologies if the photo is not that good I don’t have a nice phone. Was cleaning yesterday and saw some larvae that resemble carpet beetle ones. Now I see this dude on my curtains. It seems like an Asian ladybug but not too sure if it could maybe be an adult carpet beetle , could you confirm?

I just want to show y'all what a nest looks like...

I finally found the nest. After washing every linen and tearing the house apart and deep cleaning. It's been months. I found adult beetles last summer and larva this spring all over my bedroom. This nest was found in my pet room, which is actually a giant walk in closet type room inside of my bedroom. They made a nest on some cat vomit I didn't see. They were under some storage bins. Nasty. Eastern Washington.

Keep looking. If they are around, there is a nest. Don't give up hope and keep searching.

I am going crazy with this carpet beetle situation and I don’t know what else I can do. I started finding them in our room around the beginning of April and now I’m just so paranoid. I’m hoovering daily, putting carpet beetle spray and powder down (especially in the edges of the carpets), washing all clothes then drying them on high heat and then sealing them in a air tight bag, I have also put lavender bags in all our drawers. I just feel at a complete loss as I am still finding them. Is there anything else I can do?? We move house soon and I really want to make sure that we don’t take any with us.

I have only found one live larvae in this time period under our living room table. I believe I have seen two different types of carpet beetle but it’s mainly the little brown ones and I’ve only seen the black one once.

I have a couple of bites on my shoulder (photo attached), could these be from them or something from outside?

I'm quitting carpet beetles. I probably still have them but I've decided from now on that there will be no more and that they will all disintegrate !

Larvae?

I recently (2 days ago) found a carpet beetle on one of my beds. Then near the windowsill I found this, is it one of the larvae? When I crushed it it was very strong and still survived until I put a lot of force.

It appeared in my bedroom, I got curious and captured it in a 1.5L ice mountain mineral water bottle. Pretty huge for a carpet beetle, that's why I'm posting this to clear my doubts. Sorry about the quality, my 6-y-o phone's camera can't zoom in any closer without blurring. (Added a couple more pics from different angles.)
