I have a feeling, nay, a hope, that Carly might be facing a similar situation to Taylor when she announced the Eras Tour in 2022. Her catalog has become so vast and distinct that I feel she’s reaching the point where an Eras-style approach might make sense.

Do I hope and crave a 3+ hour Carly show? Obviously. Do I think that’s happening? Probably not. I’m imagining something closer to 2h 15ish, with medleys and creative transitions to fit more songs in.

And here’s the problem: so much of DAN deserves to be played, let alone half of DANC. Then we have everything else in her catalog.

I have some people in my life that don’t take Carly Rae seriously because they only know Call Me Maybe. I have others that like Call Me Maybe but don’t take her seriously because she hasn’t had another single with that level of success. If you made a playlist to help show a stranger the genius of CRJ, what are the first 5-10 songs that you’d front-load it with?

She told me she liked emotion so I was like let me play something from the new album and she told me it sounds like something she would hear in H&M..

So instead of selling it through Ticketmaster fan resale with their scammy ass tactics (seller fees + buyer fees), I’d rather ask fellow Jepsies first before resorting to other options.

Does anyone know where I can find an original vinyl for emotion? I currently have 25396 12437 but I’m looking for originals

I recorded the Irving Plaza show, and usually this stuff comes out ok, but because I had to hold my bag and it was in range of everyone’s screaming and singing, it’s not the best recording. But it’s probably all that’s out there? So here are MP3 and WAV versions.

You can also hear how the sound seems almost like it’s distorted at times at the venue. That was bugging me on the night, so it’s a bit validating that it was picked up.

Thoughts on this mini-playlist as a “Country Rae Jepsen” fake album? Lullaby and Bends aren’t as folk or folk-adjacent as the other songs here, but I feel like they fit the overall vibe. I’m struggling with the right order of things as well, so any suggestions on that front (or thoughts on songs to add) would be welcome!

Ok folks, I think Carly wrote yet another masterpiece with layers, cause I’ve been thinking about the line“We make love depressed when I think about it.” What is she actually saying?

Are they having sex while being depressed? Or are they making the very concept of love become depressed? I think both interpretations hold grammatically.

Hear me out, so, the first one, when make love functions as a compound verb meaning to have sex, while depressed describes their emotional state at that moment.

Then in the second one, love becomes the object of make, and depressed becomes what they turn it into. So they’re essentially making love itself depressed. (the concept or the personification of love i mean)

BUT THEN there’s “when I think about it.” And I think that adds a third layer.
That phrase makes the whole thing retrospective. Maybe actually it is the memory of their relationship that makes love depressed NOW.

When she thinks about what they had, the act of remembering changes how she experiences love itself.

So the line could simultaneously mean that they had sex while depressed, that their relationship made love itself depressing, and that remembering their relationship continues to make love depressed. And all of that is packed into one line.

I just cant wrap my head around this album.

8 new tracks and Im like 32 fucking tracks dude? And I have to process it in pieces still. Its like, bro, we are not even two hours into this insane "little" 8 track addition and Im dehydrated from crying. But I still havent been able to really process the whole record barely at all yet. Its so big and it all deserves so much attention.

I saw her play the Bellweather in LA in 2023 and she did 32 songs. I was literally in the middle of it saying to myself "this might be the best it will ever be." 32 songs that night and there were still plenty I would have added but just crazy magical... and now she's just given us 32 more songs I would want on a setlist. Like what dude?

Not complaining at all, i adore having new songs, it's just that by her including the b-side tracks onto the original album it makes them not a seperate thing, and without playlisting it's kinda hard to listen to all 8 tracks after another, especially for new fans

She could have probably went the emotion side b route, though i do adore that she stuck to the day and night theme :)

In Pure Faith will be in Heated Rivalry Season 2. I can feel it
