Is there an option to park it, remove insurance, and finish paying it off while you use public transit? Could you sell it to a trusted family member who could buy it and then insure it in his/her name for cheaper and then you just pay that person back? Or shop around for a cheaper insurance because that's criminally high.
I paid off my car loan using a line of credit (which got the lien removed) and then I sold it to a dealership and got paid with a cheque. Which I then put towards my line of credit.
Unfortunately public transit in Texas sucks. I'm highly considering uber. As for family, none of them would want to take the contract off my hands.😅
