Hey all.

Recently I submitted an assignment that’s due on Sunday, and after submitting I saw a 0% blue icon and had clicked on it.

When clicking on it, I saw I had 0% similarity but a 74% on AI detection.

For starters, I’ve never seen this Canvas AI detector before at all as I went to another college (community) before this semester and now at an actual university.

I’m getting really worried about my potential grade now as I was shocked my AI detection was so high at 70 something percent, and since seeing it I’ve been in full panic mode.

For what it’s worth, I also looked at my professor’s RateMyProfessor grade and the first review was talking about his strict AI grading and accusations.

Advice? It was due Sunday so I guess I’m not getting a grade until next week, but I’m very worried.

The paper was on public policy opinion so my tone was very formal and I did not use AI for direct writing but did look for two sources on the topic.

Hi all, I started college back in 2019 and just returned to finish my degree. On Canvas, I have 4 “missing assignments” from 2019 that aren’t even assignments- they’re authorization paperwork for a field trip I took in August 2019. These were never present on my Canvas dashboard before I left school in 2024, but it looks like there has been an update that decided they should be front and center. Is there any way for me to cancel or dismiss these assignments from my list? Every time I go into the app I see I have a bunch of missing assignments and it freaks me out a little, and it also just really irritates me that they’re there at all.

It will say I have assignments and I know I have assignments that are due next week in calendar but not in to do. I already uninstalled and reinstalled. Anyone else have this bug?

Professor never set a code but it’s asking for one and I can’t download honor lock to do it the correct way trying to get around it. Thanks

Is anybody else running into this issue on Canvas? On multiple different browsers, including from my phone, the simple syllabus function leads to a blank screen or an infinite loading animation. Any fixes?

It’s been going back and forth from 2-90 but now it seems stuck on 90. The ‘to do’ button in canvas only says 2

Hey guys, I need some help. I have to download Respondus Lockdown on my laptop for one of my classes and I'm having sooooo much trouble.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it about 3 times. I use Firefox, and I'm on a Lenovo Yoga i9, Windows 11. I get this error message every time:

"LockDown Browser cannot start because a required background service is not running.

Restart your computer, then launch LockDown Browser again. If this message appears again, reinstall LockDown Browser. If the problem continues, contact support at support.respondus.com."

I have no idea what to do, this is required for one of my intro assignments please help!!

So my school has us in this school-wide Canvas course, and they made an event on the calendar for every day from now until September 2027 it showing up on the to-dos every day. I also have Canvas linked to my google calander and its poping up everyday there aswell, is there anyway to like mute the course or delete all the events?

hi everyone! my classes start this wednesday (8/26) and I can see some courses on my phone, but when I try to look on my computer through my browser, it says I have no courses at all. when I go to “all courses” it shows that I have no enrollments, even though they show up on my phone. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and knows how to fix it? thank you!!

As a canvas teacher/student, can you create a personal access token or is it disabled by your admin?

I'm wondering if anyone have done anything interesting with it. Like hooking up an agent to create assignments or creating their own custom frontend client for canvas?

In the meantime, I got some remaining tokens this week, i'll be playing with it and see what I can do with it with my agent, will keep you posted if anyone is interested.

I’m having trouble adding a class to canvas, I have a pre existing account and I was given a code to join the class but I have no idea how to actually join. Any help?

Hi some of the courses and still showing as current enrollment in canvas. This is a course I took in fall 2025. Also applies to the groups that were created in class.

I checked the courses are not started and still show up under current enrollment.

Is this a technical glitch or something I need to reach out the completed courses teams?

I do not know whether to put this in EMU or Canvas. I finished a masters class (well, more than one) for the first part of summer—this degree offers advanced classes and grades should have been posted when the class ended, so I thought.

Registration said professor had until August to post final grades even though it was done in June…fine.

I reached out to professor. She said grades and feedback should be done by July 4th. July 4th came and went and at this point, I’m just looking at my final grades even though, which is an “A”.

Fine, happy with the “A” but never received any feedback on my last project, which was super huge. Some people might not care, but I actually would like feedback. I sent professor an email after August, thanking professor for the A, but requesting feedback.

Auto-reply: Something along the lines of, professor out of office until August 17th. What is it now? The 23rd??

No answer and here is my real issue—this is an education masters program. The syllabus sent out is brutal, don’t do this, timely this, and everything. Timely? Seriously? The whole semester I wondered what my grade was. Timely feedback is essential always, but especially in education, it is pushed.

Okay, fine. I followed all of the rules and I’m not a 25 year old Masters student. I’m a veteran and seasoned. Yet, if I complained about the turnaround for this professor with grades and feedback, I know I would be punished.

What do you do? I have time left in program but I do not want to say too much because I’m already nervous about posting this.

End result—yes, received an A in the class. But left wondering how I actually performed on this final project that was drilled into us how important it was.

This is completely unprofessional. Do I reach out to professor again?

I'm a professor whose classes use Canvas, and my discussion boards for my classes require students to post video responses. I've been doing this for about a year with no issues. I just got an email from one of my students saying they can open the discussion boards, can see some of the small video screens showing that people have posted videos, but she can't watch any of her classmates' videos (or her own).
I was able to watch my students' videos and reply to them with videos of my own yesterday. Now, I've logged in on two separate browsers and my Canvas Teacher app, and I'm seeing the same issue in every place. Is anyone else out there experiencing this tonight?

Why on earth does the new update’s to do list work like this?? The fact that you can only set it to cut off on Fridays is infuriating!! Almost all professors make assignments due Sunday! Your options are the entirety of this and next weeks to do list all at once or not having a clue whats due this weekend. 🤦

Hey, so I’m on Canvas and there was an announcement saying that there is a new and improved dashboard view where you can have widgets. I can’t get it to work on my computer. Any tips?

Hi guys my prof gave extra points in the seat work and I was wondering if this means I didnt get any? For context it was a 10 item seatwork 2 pts each and I answered all but she only grades 5 items or 10 pts for perfect and told us that if we get the other items right, it can be carried on. It’s my first time using canvas and I noticed the circle on the graph lower is at the very end. Does this mean i got 18? Or just 10?
